Wow; these always amaze me. I wonder if the people following them ever do/say anything?

Most just keep on going. They don't feel responsibility.

The problem is that some gates will stay up any time they sense a vehicle coming and others only stay up long enough for one vehicle to pass thru. They should all be the same.

I can not believe that people are that inconsiderate and stupid.

OH WAIT - YES I CAN!!!!

Should find a way to fine these idiots and maybe, maybe it might stop. Although I doubt it!

If you look at the dates on these videos, the most recent is July 2013. Perhaps the district should consider posting new videos if they are interested in having us help with ID

I don't think the date matters.
As long as we have gates, it will always be an ongoing problem.

some how they need to make the gates stronger so they will damage these idiots golf cars. Its just lazy and stupid.Hopefully with the cameras they can fine these idiots and have them pay for repairs.

Shadow8IA is partially correct - there is some inconsistency in how long gates stay up and whether they "sense" another car coming and remain up or not".

BUT that is not the problem!

The rules are 100% consistent - one vehicle through the gate for each time it raises - "Gates close after each vehicle". The PROBLEM is residents or visitors not following the rules.

Don't try to make excuses for inconsiderate idiots breaking the rules. People should take responsibility for their actions whenever they break the rules.

Most are probably drunk. No excuse, they should be off the street.

Instead of cameras, The Villages should install Bollards at the Del Mar Gate! This will reduce the replacement costs :)

Couple years ago, I slowed up and hollered out the window to some guy who was replacing the gate arm.

I said. Hey there. You really have job security here!!!

Do people get dumber as they get older??? Or were these people just born stupid?

I know The Villages will not do this, but it would be very effective to determine who damages a gate. Put RFID devices on the golf carts. It would be a tag similar to a Sun Pass. It would record the cart and time they pass through a gate. Granted this does not take car of the idiots in cars. But at least here there is an oportunity to get the plate number.

When they try to follow you, thru just slow up and they get hit by the gate...
