My wife and I came down with another couple in June for a life style visit and fell in love with the place. We are coming back in September for a longer stay so we can get a better idea of what TV has to offer. We were wondering if the cost that they gave us were pretty close to accurate or if they were high or low. We also wanted to talk to people who live in TV to see if they would buy there again or would they choose some place else.
We are looking forward to our next trip but just wanted to get some insight to TV from people who did not work there. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

the "bond" is basically an add-on to the home price, the county will bill you annually along with the property taxes, that's how I think of it

There have been many threads of conversation regarding the bond issue. Do a search and read some of the past remarks, they were very informative.

Stro...
You raise a good question. I think you are right on target to want to meet people who actually live in TV. My suggestions would be that people who post here would arrange to meet you at Panera Bread for example over coffee and sit and discuss. I hope there are folks who will do this for you. Go around where you are staying and knock on doors. Introduce yourself and see who is willing to talk to you. I hope they all do share with you. Go to some club meetings......stop people at the square during the "happy hour" and talk. You will find most are very willing to share.
Good luck....

We interviewed people at the square as was suggested. People love to tell you about The Villages. I have been here 7 years and if I could choose anywhere in the world to live it would be right here in The Villages.

Moving to TV was the best thing I ever did and would do it again.
As for the bond - I understand that the bond is less north of 466 - something you would have to look into. Also, there are resales with the bond already paid off in some cases.

Village 07 told us that the cost of living estimate given to us by the sales center was very accurate. We bought in April. Our bills so far have supported that.

strokin....
By all means, talk to as many new and long term Villagers as you can. Another great avenue for info will be the neighborhood pool where you are renting. People are very chatty while floating around on their noodles.

I want to thank everyone for the respones and we are looking forward to coming back in September for a revisit. We look forward to meeting and talking with as many people as we can and hope to maybe move to TV some day and join this very friendly community.
