We love traveling but enjoy trying all different types of travel. Next on our bucket list is to visit a state where there are fabulous b & b's since this is something we never tried. Any suggestions?? Maybe new England states in the fall? We are open to any state?

Absolutely. And plan to go around Columbus Day which is typically the peak of the Fall foliage season.

There are great B&B's in most states. You can have nice places for $100 a night or go top of the line like The Inn at Little Washington and spend $2500 a night (Includes a 5 star dinner).

Charleston SC has some great ones for reasonable rates, Sonoma CA for great wine tasting, North Conway NH for the best fall foliage, Staunton VA for the spring blooms of Redbud and Dogwoods, Truckee CA for skiing, Portland ME for some great dining, lots and lots of choices.

Just decide where you want to go, what you want to do and do a search for B&B's in that area. There are some great web sites with recommendations and reviews.

Agree with Maine. Our younger son went to school at Maine Maritime Academy on the Penobscot Bay, in the town of Castine. There are three B&B's there, one of which is right on the water. While that part of Maine is not the most touristed, it is beautiful and pristine, and would make a nice stop if you wanted to travel the length of the state staying in B&B's. The college is small (700 students) and has a 500' training vessel docked on the bay. Close by is an outdoor cafe selling lobster rolls. You can sit at a picnic table and watch a reverse tide/tidal bore (http://bayoffundytourism.com/tides/tidal-bore/), a la Bay of Fundy but smaller.

May I suggest Wisconsin in early October ? The Reynolds House Bed and Breakfast, a five star B&B. It is located in Sturgeon Bay WI, which is in Door County and features 300 miles of spectacular shoreline and state parks. And while your there, you may want to take in a Green Bay Packers game with the legendary tailgating food that one can only dream about !

Yes... gorgeous! We once did Columbus to St. Lawrence Seaway to Quebec to Nova Scotia to down the eastern Seaboard. What a great trip.
