Is there anywhere near The Villages where I can get bags of finely crushed ice? It is needed for mint juleps for a Kentucky Derby party.

I have had mint juleps at Churchill Downs and I don't remember that the ice was FINELY crushed..like heading in the direction of an icee. See here;

As a former bartender - If Sonic still sells ice by the bag that would be your best bet. It's the small nugget ice. Closest Sonic is located at 11211 SE 178th Pl, Summerfield, FL 34491. Be sure to get some fresh mint.

Why not go to your local rec center and ask-they all have ice machines-I would think that you could get a cooler full for free;certainly worth asking about.

I agree.
Buy a bag of ice and pound on it. After two no one will care what shape the ice is in. Or who is racing.

There would be a lot of old drunks sucking down mint juleps.

The cheapskates looking to save $3 are probably there right now cleaning out the machine all the way to the bottom.
I wouldn't count on there being any ice left when that crowd hears about something for "free".
