I have a new goldendoodle puppy (10 weeks) who would love to play with another playful puppy around the same size. In my reading I have learned that it is good for puppies to be able to play with other puppies as they can relate to the type of "play" that they do. If anyone has a puppy and would like to get together for a puppy playdate, please pm me. Thanks!

Sounds like fun all 'round. Good luck with puppy online play dating. :doggie:

Socialization is good once they have had all their shots. Before then, the vets don't even want you to put them on the floor in Petco. Does anyone hold puppy kindergarten classes around this area? It's an excellent way to start basic training commands plus get socialization. Usually for pups 12 to 16 weeks.

My vet does not want it to go to Petco/Petsmart until it is at least 16 weeks old so puppy classes there are out until then but she really seems to need some puppy stimulation/play. I don't think she likes the way I play with her, too many rules.

I think any small sturdy dog (not a chihuahua, as an example) would be a good playmate for your pup. We have a rescue (age unknown) that is full of you-know-what and vinegar and in type, would make a great playmate for you puppy.
Also, one of the real keys is socialization -- getting her out on a leash to be around people and other dogs.

I'm surprised at what your vet said. They are done with shots at 11 or 12 weeks. Socialization is so important. Our first two dogs didn't have it; our last two did. Puppy kindergarten was suggested by two different vets. But I would try to find a class given by a private trainer as opposed to joining a group at Petsmart, whose groups are usually much larger. And Petsmart itself probably has a lot more germs than a private trainer's venue would have. My golden is lame right now, but he's always good with puppies. You might try an older dog as well.

I think I saw a young rescue goldendoodle on the website posted by Susan G.
They are having a Rescue Day at Brownwood on Saturday.
You might want to check it out, no obligation of course.
Or PM Susan G for more information.
