Back in 2008 an articulate, young black politician took the country by storm, even edging aside a long suffering female candidate who many believed entitled to the nomination.

Many thought, and even expected, that "hope and change" were upon us along with falling sea levels. For sure, a lot of people likely voted for this young liberal because they thought race relations would improve. How could they not?

Without making this too partisan, it seems fair to expect that, after six years, whatever the state of race relations are in this country, the incumbent President must take at least some significant responsibility for the results.

The results are not good.

Unfortunately, most likely due to his back ground and arrogance he is completely unable to rise above the race issue to HELP continue the improvements made over the last 50 years.

It starts to appear that folks like Obama, Sharpton, Jackson et al are more satisfied crying foul with the black rank and file instead of taking a position of leadership.

Obama has set back race relations just by taking the positions he has on the subject. Unable to be presidential....which after 6 years should surprise no one.

"Unable to be presidential....which after 6 years should surprise no one", but more popular than any of the 2016 GOP candidates. Obama must be doing something right.

Almost everybody likes Santa Claus. An easy part to play. No responsibility. No accountability. Just hand out the goodies and be.....POPULAR.

Doesn't take much of anything to be a populist!

Obama must be doing something right.

It simply reminds me how many low-information voters are out there.

Exactly! Who'd believe they would actually vote for GWB TWICE!

So who should they have voted for? Gore and Kerry?

They didn't. Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000.

You beat me to the keyboard. I truly believe no Republican can win without promising a whole lot of something for nothing. We've gone past the "Tipping Point"
