I am curious. Does anyone know what happened with the Villager who fired several shots into an occupied car while on his motorcycle? I heard he missed some court dates but never heard the final outcome.
I'm curious too! It's like discharging a firearm is nothing complared to having sex in the squares...consenting adults with practically no one around...get.6 months in the slammer! I guess sex is hot, shooting an occupied vehicle is not!

The "sex in the square" couple took a plea deal and agreed to the six month sentence. They could have gone to trial, but they chose not to. I don't understand why that case is always thrown into discussions about other crimes. i'm sure we will eventually hear about the outcome of the shooting incident. More than likely it has not yet gone to trial.

I don't understand why you can't see the disparity in the treatment of the two cases.
The sex/square couple were not a safety and security issue.
Yet they were the focus of intense scrutiny.
Obviously the man firing shots into an occupied car was very much a safety and security issue.
The accused even missed some court dates!
And yet the case seems to have disappeared off the radar.

Bare, I was appalled at the scrutiny of the "sex on the square" case. I disagreed with how it was handled and I donated to the defense fund. However, many people still believe that they were "thrown in the slammer" (to quote the previous poster) by a judge, when in fact they were not. They took a plea deal. I wish they hadn't, but they did.
My point is, people should stop using that incident as some kind of litmus test to judge other cases. I don't know what is going on with the shooter incident, but I'm sure that it hasn't just "gone away". As is the case with many criminal cases, they get prolonged, and you just don't hear much about them until they go to trial.

Skybo, thanks for the clarification.

There seems to be an awful lot of "Courtroom to be determined - Continued" and "Deft not present".
