OK Fellow villagers, we are looking for advice from othesr that have added a birdcage. I have contacted 2 contractors for quotes, one was relatively expensive (but very well known), the other was much more reasonable, but has not provided follow-up for some additional work, so I am getting nervous, as they haves not returned phone calls.

So here is your mission, should you decide to accept it, please provide some info on contractors that you have used and are happy with and would recommend. We are just adding a birdcage, no pool, no hot tub. Existing hot tub will be moved as part of the project, and there is some additional stucco work, beyond the normal repair work of tearing out the lanai screening.

You can post replies here or send me a PM, thank you for your assistance.

Go with T & D. You might pay more in the beginning, but they stand by their work, and it normally is very good. Too many of my friends went another contractor, but are now having problems with the quality of work. Pay now, and be happy!

Only T&D, certainly not cheapest but the best, worth the wait. They have done a couple of projects for us, including a pool and cage totally professional and totally satisfied.

Here's another happy T&D customer. They are worth the wait. Once they start your project it moves along on time and without any problems.
Our birdcage, spa, and enclosed lanai took 2 1/2 months of work and was done while we were not in TV. They gave us constant updates and made sure to not disturb our neighbors.
Other contractors were less expensive but there really was no comparison. It's rare to find a contractor who gets nothing but rave reviews -- nonetheless I'd be surprised if that was not the case with T&D.

My neighbor used All Around for his birdcage, it is a end unit CYV. He has a hot tub and water fall and a lot of patio furniture and tables. Looks really great. They took out the framing of the old lanai and stuccoed and painted and installed the new frame and screen with a sunblock came to $9700. It's amazing the amount of sunlight that tinted screen can reduce but if you want to tan, then maybe that's not your thing. We used All Around for a horizonal slider on our 12' garage door, $850 installed and looks good.

This is your missing neighbor still in Ohio. They don't come cheap but, you saw the work T&D did at our place so you know what our recommendation is.

T&D did a large birdcage for us 4 years ago- Not the cheapest!

That said the work was done quickly, looks great , not a single problem and they made several suggestions for small enhancements without nickel and dimeing. We like dealing with quality companies that do what they say and have integrity as we feel it pays off in the long run.
They did not ask for a cent until the job was fully copleted to our satisfaction.

Don't even think about anyone other than T&D. You will be completely satisfied. They're worth the wait and the few extra bucks they cost. They start when the they say they will, get the job done, and make sure you're happy before they leave.

As a small example, when an addition to our birdcage was part of a spa addition, there was confusion at the building department with regard to the new specs adopted after the tornado. "Mixing" the old and new specs would have looked unattractive and T&D went way out of their way to make me happy. In fact, they completely re-built our entire birdcage, not just the addition. Then, a few days after we thought the job was complete, a landscaping crew showed up and installed new sod in all the places in the grass worn by construction or effected by digging, new pipes, etc. I didn't expect that. Our lawn and landscaping looked better after they left than before they started.

Like I said, T&D should be your only choice.

I would say it would depend on what kind of birds you plan to keep in the birdcage! :pepper2::pepper2::pepper2::pepper2::pepper2::laug h:

Brian terry vinyl ,they are a family owned company. I used them after I received three bids. They have been around for years. Once the job started , they worked every day till it was complete. They do all the drawings and get permits . I found them easy to work with.

Another vote for T&D. Ask for Scott Bolling.

I think we have picked our builder, thank you to all who replied. Will provide an update when the project is finished with all of the details.

We used Aluminum Contractors and they did a terrific job. When the inspector came, he said that they routinely do quality work and we are very pleased. Price was half of other estimates we received. They were timely as well. 352-323-0068

I used Brian Terry Vinyl. They were inovative and did the work as promissed. When they start it is one continuous flow until complete. They were the only contractor at the time, several years ago, that built drains into the slab. They do fine work and they don't come back...because it's right when they finish. Family owned.
