Of course it is. Except for the fact that most American beers are filtered through fish bladders. Some cells from the fish end up in the beer.

Do they make the fish drink it, and pee it out?

not quite, close, an extract from dried swim bladders is used to speed the settling of yeast and other impurities. it can let bladder cells get into the beer. most brewers use gelatin these days which wouldn't be vegan either.

I've suddenly had an urge to significantly reduce my beer intake. From my two beers a week! I hope they don't use fish bladders on scotch.

keep drinking your beers, its not the bladder for waste elimination but rather bladders that give the fish buoyancy...kind of the same thing that happens after consuming a couple of brews.
