Bought impatients for window boxes under awnings. I know a lot of the women told me they don't do well in the heat. So far they are looking good but maybe because more cloudy days?

Lots of Vinca in garden centers but I enjoy the impatiens more...In North Carolina impatiens did well but have not had much luck here.

Our son has new guinnea impatients planted all around his yard in South Florida and they do fine as long as they receive lots of water.

Keep them shaded and water every other day to keep them moist. Mine do pretty well.

Floats of water and shade and they will be fine. Also pinch them back periodically so they don't get leggy.

Agreed. They don't mind heat, but they don't like dry soil nor direct sunlight. Though the New Guinea varieties are pretty good in full sun.

I remember hearing from our ag extension agent that imptiens have problems with downy mildew, but that it does not affect new guinea varieties.
I have impatiens too and the blooms are simply brilliant!
