Does anyone know anything about the area off Rainey Trail. Lakeside Landings ? It appears they are building new homes. Curious?

Yep they are building out the remaining lots they have in the old side. In the process of the new side across from Promise Hospital.

Not part of TV but almost. Many who live there like vilages activities but do not want to live inside the bubble. May have children under 19 etc

They are building 100 homes which is all the land they currently own so I guess you could say thats it for them. Friend of mine who has a premier home looked at houses and commented they were just as good or better quality than his and about 25-30 percent cheaper. At one time they advertised golf cart accessible to villages but they have stopped that. I don't know the laws but I would think the registered and insured higher speed carts could go on rainey trail.

They do get into the villages via golf cart. There is a cut through in the northeast corner of the back parking lot at Promise hospital. They cross 472 (illegally) and come right in.
Many people there work at establishments in TV and their kids go to the charter school.

We had a neighbor who sold their CYV last summer and moved to Lakeside Landing. I think the lady was a person who liked to move. In 8 years they went from a rancher, to a designer, to a CYV and then to Lakeside Landing.
We ran into them at Bob Evans, she said they really like it there, it's nice to see families with children out playing. Myself on the otherhand, prefer the more quiet life in a villa without children playing in the street.
I haven't seen their Lakeside home but she had everything in her CYV which they bought new in 2011. They had wood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, plantation shutters, beautiful landscaping, I could go on. They sold the CYV for $295K and the home they bought had a lot of upgrades but was not new, it was two years old and cost just over $200K and it is a duplex. From her description I would say the biggest difference was she now has a view, it overlooks a small pond with a water fountain and it has a 2 car garage.
Her husband liked to play golf several times a week at the excutives and had his own cart. Now, he doesn't have the cart or free golf, they do have a putting green at Lakeside Landing. I don't think he was really looking to move like she was.

My daughter lives in Lakeside Landings. There's a lot of new construction. Nice homes. It's a great place for families that work for The Villages and have children in the Charter School.

Mom & I looked a couple of years ago & wished we had known about this place before moving here. The house we looked at was great but more expensive than our own. We loved the bathroom cabinets, the paver driveways & your own mailbox at the end of your driveway! Maintenance-free yard, a beautiful pool and clubhouse with planned activities. We couldn't move because we knew she would be going to Assisted Living in a few years requiring selling of our house as I can't afford to live here alone. If I remember correctly, I thought the children were only allowed in the condos. If you're not a golf-nut I would consider Lakeside Landings.

We looked at Lakeside Landings before we bought a home in The Villages. I can't speak for the condos,, but I remember the homes and they appeared to be well built. This was five years ago, and at that time there were many HOAs within the community. It seemed that with every new street or small section that was added, there was a different HOA formed. That was something that I was not comfortable with. It may be working fine for those living there, hopefully it is.

Last time I road my bike through the Promise Hospital cart path, I remember there was a gate that required my swipe card...so I don't think they have access through there.

We lived in Lakeside Landings for six of the seven years before we moved into The Villages. We had a son going to school so it was a perfect option for us. It has the absolutely nicest pool in the area. My spouse would move back today if I would agree with it. We owned a street legal cart and came in the compound everyday. We also had in-area guest passes so we had a pretty good gig going on. The HOA fees are quite stiff, at least they were two years ago. We lived in a condo up front for a year then moved to a villa in the back for the next six. The villas are very nice and well built.
