I admit it.
I don't care what anyone eats, when they eat, how much, or where, just don't preach to others about it.

Good article. We rarely eat meat anymore but do like a good steak or chops on the grille once every couple of months, our favorite meal for having friends over for dinner.
Not only is the part about dining away from home being more difficult, but worse is getting invited to friends' homes for dinner.
If we grille steaks/chops, I'm certainly not going to spend hours that afternoon making dinner salad or some kind of separate entree for our vegetarian/vegan guests.
It is very uncomfortable inviting people who refuse to eat what you're serving! And it's rude at wedding banquets to have vegetarian/vegan guests loudly stating disgust over the meal the bride's parents have spent a fortune to provide their guests.

Your heading: "The down side of being a vegan."
And you're not preaching?

I think the title is consistent with the article title. The Disadvantages of Being a Vegan.
Common use of "disadvantage" would be considered a "down side."

Count how many threads I have started on the subject of health and compare it to others.
I preach a lot about The Villages being wonderful and the Morse family being terrific capitalists and folks who donate huge sums to their political party.
Next?

I guess I must be the exception. Whenever I invite guests over for a meal, I always ask in advance if there is something they can not eat or prefer not to eat. Then, I can make a meal everyone is happy with and we can concentrate on a good time vs. discussing food issues. I can't tell you how many times I have been thanked for asking the question. I didn't realize it was such a big deal. I thought it was just common courtesy.

I do that too, and there is another way to accommodate everyone, also. Have a variety of dishes. You are not going to only throw a piece of meat on the table when having guests over anyway, so come up with some side dishes that can accommodate vegetarians and people who eat gluten free. It's not hard. We have two kinds of vegetarians in our little family of 8. Christmas dinner is a variety.
But one thing I learned is that the omnivores will happily over-chow down on the vegetarian dishes, so make plenty of food! The polenta-tomato-mozzarella pie I made for the vegetarians one Christmas almost didn't make it around the table to them. Piggy little omnivores...

The intent is still the same. It preaches anti veganism.
I disagree. I was merely commenting on your incorrect differentiation between two words that would be viewed as synonyms by those using the common vernacular.

So you're preaching (with your link) against veganism too? And helping to stir the pot.

THis reminds me of a Bogart movie........round up the usual suspects:mmmm:
First Calcium, Vitamin D Eating a good plant based diet, not an issue, blood work for D, bone density test for some, try exercise.
Vitamin B-12, that is an issue but a b12 supplement 2 or 3 times a week keeps it in check, blood test to confirm
Iron Deficiency, not an issue for us.
I will say if those are the disadvantages great, the advantages out weight them by about a million times. :D
