Has anyone had skin tags removed either at the Villages or nearby? If so, can you recommend them and remember the cost. Thank you in advance for any info you can give me.

I had mine removed by my dermatologist (not in TV). Do you have a TV doctor yet because he/she can give you the referral.

I've had several removed at the VA. But the last trip there my PA told me they no longer do them. I only had one small one and didn't ask why.

Insurance may not cover and consider it cosmetic?

Wait...WHAT???

Am I reading this right? Now HUMANS are coming with price tags? Don't tell me they have UPC codes on them too so the Obstetrician just runs the baby over the laser reader after delivery?

OMG - what's next? And, if these tags are removed as some of you are saying. isn't that illegal? How does the government trace us then? oooh, new movie = '2084'.

Do not fold, spindle, or mutilate. Skin tag not to be removed under penalty of law.

Dr. Casper at Alliant Dermatology in Santa Fe Crossing does skin tag removal. I was there a couple of weeks ago about mine. He didn't think it was an issue to remove them as they aren't hurting anything but if I wanted them removed it would be out of pocket. The insurance wouldn't pay as it would be cosmetic. He does have a Physician Assistant there who takes lots of his appointments. She is much easier to get into. I can't remember the cost but you could call.

I had one doctor say it's ok to use sterilized scissors, or cuticle clippers after swabbing area with alcohol . Also have heard people tying off the tag and letting it drop off.. "Tag off "is a homeopathic treatment sold most everywhere but it takes awhile.

Have you tried Tea Tree Oil? It's sold in many places and on line. I have 3 small skin tags that now show since sweater weather is over. I've applied the oil several times per day and after 10 days they have begun to shrink and harden.

An inexpensive option that can't hurt you, but may not help.

I have periodic skin tags around my neck. About 15 years ago a doc suggested I purchase a nice chain necklace and wear it 24/7. Problem solved. The movement of the necklace removes the skin tag.
