"Tonight – May 21, 2015 – the dazzling starlike point of light near the waxing crescent moon is the planet Venus. This world ranks as the third-brightest celestial object in all the heavens, after the sun and moon. Enjoy watching the brightest and second-brightest orbs of nighttime – the moon and Venus, respectively – as they pair up together in your western sky on this evening.

The planet Jupiter, the fourth-brightest celestial body after the sun, moon and Venus, shines above the moon and Venus, and will also be hard to miss at evening dusk. Venus and Jupiter are drawing closer together on the sky’s dome now and will be spectacular after sunset in the weeks ahead! Venus will catch up with Jupiter on June 30, 2015, to stage the closest conjunction of these two planets until August 27, 2016."

I just happened to see it last night. It was a crescent moon with a very bright Venus, both highly visible even through some cloudishness and light pollution since I viewed the sky from an urban environment.
