COLD BAKED POTATOES AND NOT ENOUGH WAITERS / WAITRESSES
DIRTY BATHROOMS , HAD TO ASK 3 times for coffee, Never ask if refill desired !!!!!!!!!!!!
We have always enjoyed Codys in the past , wondering if they are getting complacent about having enough business .
This was experienced at BROWNWOOD CODYS

What did the manager have to say about it?
If the manager was there, and out in the front of the house instead of at his computer or iPhone in back, he was already looking right at the disorder and sloppiness FOR HOURS.
If he/she cared, they would have been doing something about it already.

Bad experence yesterday same Codys. Sat there 45 minutes. Called manager over. Server forgot to put our order in. Paid for drinks and left. For good customer service you would have thought he would have maybe comp drinks. Nothing! Wasn't looking for that at all, but customer service counts. Our first time there, bad first impression.

Had a bad experience a couple months ago, guess they haven't improved...We were seated and then the manager asked if she could move us because she had a larger party coming. We didn't mind, as we had just ordered our drinks. She never told our server! After waiting close to 15 min., we finally asked another server about our drinks and we had been ready to order for quite some time...The manager had also promised us free dessert for moving, which our new server didn't know. We again talked to the manager who cleared that up. The large party who took our table and started this, a party of 4...REALLY? Haven't been back since, very unorganized even when the manager is involved.

well the manager of the Cody's at Lake Sumter is very efficient at dealing with any issues and he does it promptly-just what I've observed over the years from dining there

Several managers at Cody's in Lake Sumter over the years. If you are referring to James, then yes!

:ho:Since it seems to be the Brownwood location, why don't you just be patient and give them time to settle in. It has not been open all that long!!! Or just try somewhere else!!!

Ummmmmmm........Cody's in Brownwood has been open for several months, if not a year or more. They should be "settled" in by now I would think.

They have had dirty rest rooms for sometime now, as well as the bar area.

Dirty restrooms, cold meals slow service, etc are signs of poor management. If an restaurant manager is proactive and paying attention nothing should escape his/her attention.

Cody's is a franchise Chain and rather surprising to find poor management for any length of time. Hope they turn it around and soon.

Our Codys are not franchises. Mr. D owns 4 Codys.

As the Father of a former Employee of Cody's I can tell you they treat their employees like crap! Sort of Management by the Gestapo handbook.

We were there and we were served cold fish. Managers response was to microwave it and then offer one desert. For $15.00 fish plate seems he would know to make someone a fresh piece of fish. We felt sorry for the server she was from a high end restaurant in S.FL and even she was embarrassed.
They need to get there act together before the new name will be house of empty chairs!

Chairs will never be empty at the bar. Those are the "regulars" who always make excuses horrible food and service, because they're buzzed most of the time and don't see it.

What did the manager have to say about it?
It's not the customers job to educate the manager on how to run his restaurant. We go there and expect the restaurant to run efficiently and that's what we are paying for. If he can't run the restaurant then he isn't doing his job. We're paying for the food and service and if it isn't up to par then I don't see a need to locate the manager and complain. We just cross that place off our list.

I think the owner of Codys should read the threads about his place. I would think any business owner in the villages would check in here once and a while to see what others are saying about their business .

8 of us just had dinner a Cody's (LSL), with very good service, my wife's drinks were a little delayed, but all of the food came at the same time and I heard no complaints. This was at 5:45 pm when we were seated. We will be returning. Also, the last time we were at Cody's (Brownwood) we did not notice any of the above problems or concerns, however, we will keep an eye out as this location is much closer for us. All of our previous vists to Cody's (Brownwood) have been very good.

There are many of us there that are not "buzzed most of the time"

Wait until Texas Roadhouse comes to town, they will take a "bite" out of their business with better pricing and much better tasting steaks! If Codys in Brownwood was business smart they would start cleaning up their act now to try to keep as many repeat customers as possible.

People quite often judge establishments by "key" appearances. For many a clean , neat and attractive main lobby (in a Hospital ER, or main lobby) suggests to many that they will receive good care. My key to whether I want to revisit a restaurant is the condition of the restrooms. There are several popular "watering holes" including at least two Country Clubs in TV that I avoid for that reason.

Cleanliness is the key, one of my best bud's ran Dean & Delucca's in NYC before opening a restaurant in Maui, he used to come to our house & believe me a true professional in the food service business is a nut job about cleanliness--he cooked in our kitchen effortlessly & cleaned as he went--I wish I was that skilled--but cooked with an electric cook top has its limitations.

When I was a kid, My parents loaded up the horse and wagon and we took off. Whenever we stopped to eat, daddy always went in first and checked out the "facilities" for cleanliness. If it didn't pass his test, he got back in the car and we kept going.

Cody's at Lake Sumter Landing has a very clean men's restroom. I have never been in the ladies! There is a chart on a clipboard on the wall by the door with times that the employee cleans the bathroom with his initials. It also states if the patron is not satisfied, call it to the attention of the manager.

I always consider the cleanliness of the restroom the same as the kitchen. If they don't clean the restroom, then they don't clean the kitchen.

Will not patronize Codys in Brownwood again. Bad service. Bad attitude. Third time there. A problem every time. Three strikes you're OUT!! They apparently do not care about their customers, and that means YOU, so take your money elsewhere.

Speaking of TX Roadhouse, does anyone know when they are coming here?
I went onto their website, and did not even see a mention of a new Roadhouse in The Villages (or Lady Lake). It was many months ago when the announcement was in the newspaper about them coming.

I try not to think about what happens back there..
My very favorite rib place is Oakwood. It isn't sparkling..in fact it is a bit dingy, but it looks like what it is, a very busy place serving very yummy food.
Goin' there tonight with two of our favorite people.

Ran into several very nice people at Oakwood tonight. One of my favorite TOTV posters was there!
Hope she had a nice dinner. They are having a special in June. Full rack of ribs and two sides, $11.95. Had the lima beans and sweet potato..Awesome.
No I don't work for them or have any stock. Just love their ribs.

The reason that many restaurants in TV have dirty restrooms is that they are too cheap to pay a cleaning crew and have the waitstaff do that job. I won't eat at any of those establishments because the image of my server cleaning a bathroom and then handling my food puts me off.
The parent of the Cody's server is right; Mr. D. refers to his employees as his "slaves" and treats them as such.

The person who cleans the bathroom also prepares and serves the food at my house.
That would be me.
I find it very surprising that a successful restaurant doesn't hire a cleaning crew.
