Pond at Havana

I live on the first hole of Kenya( Havana ) (Village of Hemingway). The pond is filled with dead fish, and all day we have been watching the birds come and go, they do not seem to want to eat the fish. The snowy Egrets have stood guard for two days and now the sky and pond is surrounded by vultures. I have called the Havana country club, which informed it was district seven's problem, I called district seven and they said they would inform management , I called FWA, which are closed for the holiday, I called Community watch, which said they would send an inspector out to survey all the dead fish. So far noone as shown, nor do I think they really care. The odor of dead fish is almost overwhelming, and again, I cannot get any response. Again lets just pass the buck, and let someone else take of it. Tomorrow I plan to call the health dept. as the decaying fish are causing flies and odor, beyond belief, I cannot believe that not one agency of this community even had the concern to come and look for themselves the amount of dead fish in this pond. Shame, Shame, on all that have any responsibliity to maintain this course and the homeowners who live on it.
Someone or something must be held for the deaths of all fish.

Do you have your lawn fertilized? Pesticide applied? Maybe its us?
Or than again it could be nature, shame, shame.

Then again there are not many people working today, so what could be done today?

The person to call about the pond is Eric Kellam at the District Property Management (753-4022). We live on the Havana course too & our lake seems constantly low. Could this be a problem with yours? Maybe lack of water reduces oxygen (smaller space for fish to share). All our fish died several years ago but they cleaned it up quickly & it was restocked. Most ducks avoid our pond now. Could you please post the condition & level of your lake? This may help us in fighting to keep our lake level up. Hope you get it resolved soon.

Hang tight, have seen this before on a Palmer course a few years back. The vultures are a great clean up crew.

it's the lack of rain concentrating run off. Look at how low the ponds have become.
