The Mission Inn Resort & Club, Howey-In -The-Hills, FL. An absolute gem only 30 to 45 minutes from anywhere in The Villages. I have lived in The Villages for 9+ years and as most Villager golfers will attest it is great to experience some of the great golf we have just outside our complex. Mission Inn is looking for groups of 16+ players to come and enjoy their premier facility at a SPECIAL VILLAGE RATE. If you are a golf group head or would just like to get some friends together for a golf experience you will not forget send me a PM (Personal Message) and I will give you the details that are available only through this Thread.

Featuring 2 premier golf courses, 4 restaurants, the Spa Marbella, and an array of on-site activities just minutes from Orlando.

El Campeón Course~
Sublimely challenging. Frustratingly addictive. Surrounded by an abundance of natural Florida beauty, the El Campeón 18-hole championship course was designed by Chicago-based course architect, George O'Neil and built in 1917 - with further enhancements in 1926 by Charles E. Clarke of Troon, Scotland. El Campeón is one of the South's oldest golf courses and blends unusual Central Florida elevation changes of more than 85 feet with features of traditional golf design, including spectacular rolling fairways and undulating greens.
The course's signature hole is the par 5, 17th hole - which features a long double dogleg that has more obstacles than some entire courses!

Las Colinas Course

Classic, old-architecture style that demands proper shot placement.
Designed by Gary Koch and built in 1992, Las Colinas (Spanish for "the hills") is an 18-hole championship course that offers quite a different challenge from El Campeón. It is an inland links design with generous, wide-open fairways, gentle rolling hills and large, undulating greens.Las Colinas was nominated as "Best New Resort Course" by Golf Digest in 1992, named "Best Places to Play - 4 stars" by Golf Digest, and has received "Top Fairways" recognition by Golf for Women. Its signature hole is "Alligator Alley", the par 5, 12th hole that spans 493 yards along a tree-lined fairway and requires absolute accuracy from tee-to-green.

I have been there for a SCORE Christmas lunch. It is quite beautiful and a real country club. I know nothing about golf so can't critique the golf course, but the grounds and building and restaurant we were in are lovely. Food was good.
