Lots of people are charged with killing a police dog, what should happen here?

I watched the program on the Vet who lives and works on the Islands and he made a point of saying that animal abuse is a huge problem in the Islands. I was very surprised to hear this, I sorta thought everything was hunky dory there.

No excuse for this as there is no excuse for forgetting to drop you child at daycare and leaving them in the car to die. I am sure getting those dogs out of the car everday when he returned home was pretty much habit. What happened here?

Should their be any charges?? YES !!!!
Will their be? I would not hold my breath.
Would a "civilian" have already had charges brought? More than likely.

When I read the article I couldn't believe it. Incredibly sad. How did he not know they in the car if they were always in the house with family?

The article mentioned he had extended his shift that day. Probably feeling a little out of sorts. It never ocurred to me that he would have done it on purpose. He probably treated those dogs like his children. When you are going 100 miles an hour and have too much on your plate sometimes you do things absent mindedly. I don't think he should be prosecuted. He probably is grieving badly.

Here we go again. What should happen here? Should there be charges? String him up! etc., etc., etc.
I think that what should happen here is the rest of the story should be heard.
Animal abuse? Was this intentional? It sounds like this cop and his family loved these dogs. The story said that he is very distraught over this. His kids couldn't sleep unless the dogs were in the house.
I say we all put all of our opinions on hold until all of the facts are known.
