Without much fanfare of introduction, I offer to ex teachers or educators who may have an interest in this, and it is posted in Political because it definitely has political overtones. This was written about this morning in an editorial in the Daily Sun.
I offer this link so you can get an idea without upsetting folks on here that tend to get off the subject rather quickly and make judgement without reading.
Crimes of the Educators: How Utopians Are Using Government Schools to Destroy America's Children: Samuel Blumenfeld, Alex Newman: 9781938067129: Amazon.com: Books
Being married to an educator of over 30 years she recalls the changes in reading programs, etc and maybe others would like to read. My wife has already got it on her nook.

Just sharing what I am just learning and hoping that some educators or ex educators might chime in.
First, the book referenced above.....this is a bit about it....
"In the United States another form of utopians, the "progressives," have tried to destroy traditional America by strategically dumbing down her people. America's future is being crippled on purpose in order to fundamentally transform the nation, its values, and its system of government."
This is from the editorial write up on the book.

Today I stumbled on a group called PEG which stands for Pacific Educational Group. Never heard of it, but allow me to share a bit of what I have read.
"St. Paul's Frost Lake Elementary has focused intensely on its black students lately.
Administrators and teachers pore over data and ask: If black students make up 20 percent of the student body, why do they account for 65 percent of the suspensions? Why do they lag behind peers in reading and math?
The school's "equity team" is an offshoot of the district's three-year relationship with San Francisco-based consultant Pacific Educational Group, or PEG. The premise: Educators can only chip away at achievement disparities if they confront their own racial biases and the ways racism permeates schools.
"We are asking our staff to change rather than expect kids to change to fit our comfort level -- and that's huge," said Frost Lake Principal Stacey Kadrmas.
PEG's input has spurred districtwide changes in St. Paul, from a push to reduce suspensions to a bid to integrate students with intensive special needs into mainstream classrooms. Districts such as Edina examined reading selections, hallway posters and curriculums to ensure they include faces and voices with whom students of color can identify.
Critics say PEG's work has alienated some educators and, in recasting certain discipline issues as cultural misunderstandings, let disruptive students and their families off the hook. Some point to the cost of PEG's services and the scarcity of solid evidence they boost achievement."

This is a bit scary but then perhaps I just do not understand it, but are we teaching to our young people that you CAN get away with things depending on color of skin and allowing for bringing everyone to one level.
Any educators or ex educators, please post......did not know this was happening in our schools.
More on the same programs....
"In 2010, the St. Paul school district began a contractual relationship with the Pacific Educational Group, a San Francisco-based organization that tries to help public schools deal with achievement and disciplinary issues involving black students.
PEG packages and sells the concept of victimization, for a very high price.
It claims that the American education system is built around white culture, tradition and social norms – aka “white privilege” – to the unfair detriment of black students.
PEG believes that black students will only achieve if school curricula are customized to meet their cultural specifications. It also rejects the concept of using suspensions or expulsions to discipline black students.

Weigh in on this if you are aware......

This applies to the above.....definition of CRITICAL RACE THEORY..
"Critical race theory (CRT) is an academic discipline focused upon the application of critical theory,[1][2] a critical examination of society and culture, to the intersection of race, law, and power.[1][2] Critical race theory is often associated with many of the controversial issues involved in the pursuit of equality issues related to race and ethnicity.
The movement is loosely unified by two common themes. First, CRT proposes that white supremacy and racial power are maintained over time, and in particular, that the law may play a role in this process. Second, CRT work has investigated the possibility of transforming the relationship between law and racial power, and more broadly, pursues a project of achieving racial emancipation and anti-subordination.[3]"
Critical race theory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_race_theory)
PEG is based on critical race theory
I know or knew that President Obama and his wife were strong advocates at Harvard of Bell's Critical Race Theory, which is what sparked his campaign to have Harvard hire based on race and gender.
I am not a smart man, but when I put this all together, I get concerned about what our children are being taught....HELP if you know anything or any references

Our children are being indoctrinated, not educated. The higher ups want little robots who think socialism is great, relying on the government is good. The article that was in this weeks paper Crimes against your children stated it perfectly and the book they recommend I ordered immediately "How Utopians are using government schools to Destroy America's children"

In reading a CNN article on the Presidents falling poll numbers, they list the issue that concern americans.
Of course economy was number 1 (one more quarter reducing the GDP and we are officially in a depression) , but in second place was EDUCATION...
"Education ranks second, 17% call that their top concern..."
Obama approval heads down hill - CNNPolitics.com (http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/03/politics/obama-approval-rating-cnn-poll/index.html)
I really think hear so little on this subject, and the editorial on Sunday, followed by reading a bit on the book mentioned and finally the PEG articles, I, as another poster mentioned, purchased the book Crimes of the Educators.
These are our children and grandchildren. They are facing economical problems and certainly national security; they deserve a good HONEST education.

I have begun the recommended book by Samuel Blumenfield.
If you have time, please read it. We are and have been destroying the youth of our country and doing it on purpose it seems. We are failing our children int his country.
We oft times on this board discuss the black economic situation in the country.
"Across New York City, only 15.3 percent of black students me the proficiency standards in math. In English, the percentage of proficient black students was 16.3 percent"
.....from CRIMES OF THE EDUCATORS BY SAMUEL BLUMENFELD, PAGE 40.
WE have set these young people to fail. We fail to educate and as Mr Blumfenfeld speaks to, we stress the political correctness instead of the learning in our schools.
The statistics on how prepared these young people are to do ANYTHING when they get out of high school is shocking and very disturbing. Basically good young people who will never get off the street because we failed them in education.
How do these young people ever ever get out of the life they have ?

We need to have a revolution ... but let's keep it peaceful. The frog is being boiled ever more rapidly and it's time to finally fight back. This is the ball game.

I am para phrasing, but it is amazing to read how the intent is that everyone be as close to the same as possible, and how wanting to excel is considered selfish...can you imagine children having that idea placed in their heads ?
I do not know how to fight back. They blame economic inequality on people wanting to succeed. They blame any social inequality on race, and now most recently religion. If you fight back, you are a racist, you do not have any empathy, or you are just a plain old, and old is now a word often used, bigot.
Truth is I believe more in equality of money, race and religion that any of those who really believe that if children are taught to temper their dreams and aspirations for the better good, our country will prosper. Family values which is another area of ridicule matters in this school debate also, but is tempered by those who make it all about politics.
I just do not know how to fight back, except with my vote

The very first thing to do is refuse to be silent on all the PC idiocy masquerading as enlightened thought.
For example, Bruce Jenner has a mental illness and is not courageous. A solder or Marine who goes into battle, even though he's scared sh**less is courageous.
Start by speaking the truth ... we all must do that.
