I am leaving Ohio on D-day the 6th of June with my son and two grandsons (9 & 11) to drive to my house in The Villages. My wife will fly down on Monday. On the way, I am planning a stop in Plains, Georgia to see and hear Jimmy Carter at his Sunday school class.
Has anyone else recently attended his class? While I did this several years ago with my wife, I am trying to determine how early in the morning we need to arrive to get a seat. I want to make sure they get this experience of being very close to a former President of the United States.

What a great plan. I envy your grandkids. They are getting a gift from you that will never be forgotten.

While I am not a fan of former President Carter, I applaud your effort to educate your grandsons. There are many historic civil war locations in GA you might find enjoyable as well.

I certainly hope so. When you hear and see a candidate in person you learn much more than by watching a sound byte on television.

As my nine year old grandson is highly allergic to peanuts, there will be no peanuts for him or us. In fact, we are driving because of a concern about peanuts on board commercial aircraft. I hope there isn’t the smell of peanuts as we go through Georgia and no eating at Cody’s while in the Villages. An EpiPen is always carried just in case. He’s a good kid and takes this situation seriously.
Someday, there will be a treatment to minimize the risks for everyone who has this type of issue. The sooner the better!

By the way, I've been through Plains several times. It can be quite dusty depending on the weather and wind circumstances. I don't know the answer to the question I'm asking, but could that dust contain peanut dust from the manufacturing facilities in the area?

Current weather forecast is calling for light winds and a chance of showers. Thanks for your concern and we are looking at all of the factors to be safe with the kid.

We made it to see President Carter and the bomb sniffing dog. For a man the age of 90, he articulated the points of his Sunday school lesson as if he were a scholar in his 40’s. His perspective on Peter vs Paul was quite interesting and highlighted his knowledge of the Bible. My grandsons love riding around the Villages in a golf cart

Seeing President Carter teach his Sunday School lesson with our grandson. Was a job for us as well.
