We have hundreds of tiny toads in our grass and all around the outside of our house. Is this a normal Florida thing? Will they go away???

We live near a preserve and we had a deluge of little frogs the first year in this new house (a couple of years ago) and they seemed eager to hop inside the front door when it was opened. But haven't seen them again.

If they're little and green....tree frogs.
Very plentiful (and very noisy) this time of year.

we have a pond behind us. Thousands of frogs of all types singing all summer long! looking for love, I expect.
And we always have those frogs that sound like barking dogs, too.

Did you direct them all to Beth's house?:ohdear:
Up at our neighborhood pool, I've heard the ones that sound like small dogs barking.

Frogs are a sign of a healthy environment!

They are definitely toads and not frogs and while I appreciate them being bug eaters I think we need to move up a notch on the food chain and find a critter who needs a few tiny toads to dine on. We live in Lake Deaton on a pond. Between blind Mosquitos and tiny toads I'm beginning to think I live in Egypt!

Don't live there yet (moving ~ July) but these are a good sign. Like the previous poster, a sign of a healthy environment AND insect control.

Thank you Mother Nature for sending me lizards and millipedes, not frogs.

While walking my friends dog I heard what sounded like two small dogs barking away. it was very laud and stopped when I got closer so I didn't know which house it was really coming from. Well last night, while walking, it didn't stop and it turns out it's coming from the water sewer pipe. I think it gets magnified, lol I could hear it more faintly from other openings further down the street. Glad I realized it was frogs and not dogs down there or I'd be a wreck.

We were inundated with tiny frogs the 1st 3 years here. Don't think they were toads. From spring through summer there would be about a hundred in close proximity to garage and front door. Occasionally 1 or 2 would get in. Sometimes a challenge to catch to put back outside but overall pretty cute and don't hurt anything. Now we only see a couple every now and then.

These tiny frogs are typical in damp, woody areas especially after heavy rain. I saw them today at Lake Deaton postal station while checking mail for a client. The station backs up to a pond and plenty of woodsy oaks and flora.
Just watch where you step...

I always like to see the little frogs because if they are gone, then snakes are here eating them.. and I DO NOT LIKE SNAKES !!! At least , that is my theory..

Saw hundreds of tiny brown frogs (think about 1/8 the size of a man's finger nail) today at Mangrove executive course.

We don’t worry about the toads in Ohio, it’s the …... picture taken this morning.

My deer friends are back in my yard and have multiplied. Not quite the same as toads in Florida, I enjoy them on my return to Ohio.

There are these toads/frogs adapting to the color of my home with big eye and oversized cupped feet that I found in the handle of my screen door and then again between sections of gutters while I was cleaning debris them from
Its a nasty feeling to stick your hand in a door handle and experience a slickness rather than empty space.
Oh well we all got to live

They like hiding behind the shutters during the day time!!! Don't like when they leave their poop on side of house. Yuk!!!

We are down in South Florida and the Bufo toads have returned. They are very large -- weighing up to 2 lbs -- they secrete toxins from glands behind their eyes that can kill a dog or cat if left untreated. All night long, they serenade other toads with their "songs."

I haven't seen any around here....yet... but the article in the Daily Sun said they are making their way to central Fla. I hate to hear this since we were invaded with them in S. Florida. My brothers Doberman nearly died from one.
