We are continually cleaning dead bugs off of the front of our house. (Front faces N.) Is there anything that can be done to prevent the bugs from smashing themselves into our house?

I don't think so, bugs are bugs.

Not to hijack your post, but we get many disgusting worms in our entry. UGH!

Bugs lives are not very long, many die of natural causes each day. The intent is to prevent the bugs from gathering on the surface. Try a garden sprayer with dish soap / water mixture (works for Asian lady bugs that collect in large numbers in the fall up north). Spray it on and leave it.

I noticed bugs (dead and alive) on our house. Most were right where the lawn light shined on the siding. Took the back piece of glass out of the lawn light and covered the glass with alum. foil then replaced. Very few bugs now!

Cost nothing to try. :icon_wink:

I think leaving the porch light on at night attracts bugs to come to your porch and fly around and smash themselves into your siding and door. Bugs seem to be attracted to light.

I find in my daily travels around TV's, if a home is close to wetlands or a prairie, bugs be plenty!!!!!

I think OP is talking about those awful blind mosquitoes. They make a mess/stain on the siding. Have to have the lamppost light on so not much you can do about it. I think pressure washing is the only way to get their debris off.
