We recently moved into a home whose previous owner had Dish Network TV. We decided to go with Comcast and although the previous owner had his Dish service disconnected, the dish itself remained in the back yard. I spent two hours on the phone with the Dish representatives who said they would NOT send anyone out here to remove the dish and for us to pull it out ourselves or hire an outside satellite company to remove it at a cost of about $99! Now this thing was cast in a cement base that was absolutely impossible to just "pull out" as they suggested. I feel that the Dish Network should have removed THEIR equipment at the cancellation of the service and NOT expected us to pay for someone to remove it...especially since we did not order it in the first place. If ever I would have considered Dish Network, I am now definitely anti-Dish! The supervisor was rude and of no assistance whatsoever... so beware that if you get Dish YOU and only YOU will be responsible to remove the dish from your backyard or there it will remain for good!

I have to agree with "Dish" on this. Why is it there responsibility to remove the equipment ?

As the buyer of the home, you should have covered the removal with the seller.

Tree, luckily contractors don't use a ton of cement on those installs. You can also cut the pole off at the base and cover the concrete with soil. The dish and LNBs may have some value to someone.

I am a subscriber to the DISH network. The Dish network is, by far, the worst company as far as customer service, I have ever dealt with.
That being said, I do like the service. The Dish on your property was the property of the previous owners. Obviously they opted NOT to take it with them, Dish has a program that encourages this.
A bit late now, but you should have made an agreement with the seller to take care of the dish.
Sorry but, congratulations, you now own a satellite dish
I'll bet if you ambush a landscaper in the neighborhood, he would yank it out for a nominal charge

Having had the DISH service in the past they are correct. Years ago I sold a house with a DISH TV atnetta on the roof after cancelling the service and giving the new owners the option to keep it.

Unfortunately it is not DISH's problem but yours. They are a lousy company to deal with.

Have you though about making it into a outdoor WOK for orental BBQ's

I had one once and made it into a ground level birdbath. I set it into my garden and when the garden got watered, the birdbath got new water, more during long hot periods. The birds love it because it's on the ground and they feel safe and it's not too deep that they can't just walk into it. I used silicone to plug the holes. Just loved it.
