Im assuming you left the password blank and tried or put in 1,2,3,4 and hit return?

Have you tried typing admin as the password? This is assuming you set yourself up as the administrator.

try this:

To enable your computer to not require a password to login to Windows 8, perform the following:

1.Press Windows key + R to open command prompt. ...
2.Uncheck "user must enter user name and password to use this computer", then click "ok".
3.Enter your user name and password, then click "ok".
4.Restart your computer.

If you go to Google and type in "windows 8.1 default password" for the search, there were several sites with information.
Hope this helps.

I had a problem where my password stopped working. I had several users on the machine and was able to get into the machine using a different user and then removed the password requirement. Problem is you need to know a login password and the user has to have adm priv. You might have a guest account set up by default.
I would call MicroSofts help phone number.
One option could be to restore the computer to the default setting. Do not know how to do this but someone may post or you could search. It should be a command with no need for anything else.

Just dd a search and this is what I found.
Use the following steps to reset Windows 8:

From the login screen, click the power icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
While holding Shift, click Restart.
Click Troubleshoot.
Click Reset Your PC.
Click Next.
The system will reboot and begin Preparing to Reset the PC.
At the Reset your PC screen, click Just remove my files.
Click Reset.

I am pretty sure you will erase all non windows OS files so do some research before you try this.
