The Daily Sun had a great editorial cartoon today. It shows a Texan saying, "The great independent state of Texas has a message for the power hungry Federal Government that ought to stay out of our lives..."

And the next frame shows the Texan on top of his roof in a Texas flood with the message of "HELP".

Great cartoon!

It works if the mindset is the only "help" comes from the federal govenment. Might be more obvious if I saw the cartoon....I will seek it out just for curiosity sake.

Once Texas secedes that will cut off the flow of Medicare, Social Security and Highway Transportation funds into the state. To quote a famous Texan "Mission Accomplished".

Spoken like a true American.

From a silly cartoon, we get true feelings expressed.

The message, is if you do not as you are told, we will chemtrail you and you will flood like never before!

They control the weather and for the last 6 weeks we have missed out on all the great chemtrails - I was wondering where they moved the operation!

Well, when we secede we'll also send all the illegal aliens your way and make it a special point to have them get off the bus in your front yard.

They have no personal investment hence there is no concern. Maybe a busload in their front yard will help.

Or maybe when the busload is unloading at the hospital and TV residents have to get in line will be more effective.

Ditto at the grocery store and restaurants.

Think about a 25% "invasion" of illegals unto TV sanitized bubble.

I have read and reread this post, and still can't figure it out. Are you translating from Spanish to English?

No translation required. Very simply extrapolating what the impact of a busload of illegals could have on TV delivered at any one of these examples.
Pretty straight forward.....in the context of the thread!

While they're at it, maybe they should cut off the flow of illegal aliens as well.

Dear Guest: First I am of a mind set that I don't need any stinking government handout and the medicare and social security I do receive I paid my fair share of contributions.

Secondly the government hasn't been exactly exemplary in their responses to catastrophes. In fact private organizations can get more done faster and more economically.

Third one of the main reasons the country showed any growth was because of Texas economy.

When government chooses it chooses wrong. The proof is in the pudding or in many of the blue cities like Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago that are facing significant financial and social problems.

Liberals are not good leaders they should stick to education and work with theory or acting where their ideas of things "such as terrorist only need jobs" works out well in a play or movie and fantasy things like that

Since the war on poverty was declared in 1964 the US has changed the poverty figure only .02. Billions upon billions of entitlements and we get .02 reduction. and the kicker was that prior to that blacks were doing just fine on their own ask Thomas Sowell and Jason Riley they both wrote about it

So I would suggest that you show some respect for the accomplishment made by Texans because they have fared better than most of us.

I miss John Wayne

Personal Best Regards:

I absolutely love this part of the post. I believe (but could be wrong) that the poster believes that John Wayne was a Texan. As most of us know, Marion Morrison (John Wayne) was born in Winterset, Iowa. As for being the all-American war hero, John Wayne NEVER served in the military.

Jimmy Stewart served in the military and got to be a general. Lee Marvin was a Marine and served in the Pacific during WWII and was seriously wounded. Where was John Wayne? Hollywood!

Anyhow, neither here nor there. John Wayne was a fine actor and made some very entertaining movies. My all time favorite is "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence". That movie starred Lee Marvin, Jimmy Stewart, and John Wayne. Excellent movie, if you have never seen it, get it.

That's what I was thinking ... the poster went into an erroneous orbit. The use of John Wayne was effectively metaphorical anyway and not an invitation to do a deep dive about his real place of birth yadda. Amusing although in this case we were laughing at the aberrant poster vs with him (or her)

Oh gee, I am crushed by this remarkable put-down of yours. :loco:
