I'm hoping the kind people on TOTV can help a starving pony be rescued.

On CR 25, just south of Weirsdale across the street from County Line Bar, there is a pasture with a couple of thin horses. There is also a sweet little white pony penned up in a dog pen (yes, a dog pen) who is so thin and emaciated, you can see his backbone from the road. He is filthy and out in all sorts of weather with no shelter. I have called Marion County Animal Control 3 times in 3 months on this poor thing. The man said they "get calls all the time" on the pony but it's "ok to have him in the dog pen" and as long as he has water, he's ok. :swear: He has no hay or feed but that doesn't seem to matter.

Now, this morning I drove by and saw the little guy trying to stand on his hind legs to eat leaves off of a tree while his owners were having new furniture delivered !!!!! . I don't know how these people sleep at night.

Drive by and see him. It's the saddest sight. If you can, call Marion County Animal Control at 352-671-8727. The house has no address but the address of the bar across the street is 17474 S Highway 25, Weirsdale, FL which they use for reference.

Thank you for helping!!

Sounds like calling Marion County is an act of futility. Have you tried contacting some of the horse rescue associations such as the Horse Protection Association of Florida? They're based out of Ocala and might be your best bet. I truly hope someone helps this poor pony. Animals deserve so much better.

That's a good idea! I will try calling them. Thanks!
