We are part timers until September this year so our Villages mailbox only gets emptied when we are in town.
All of a sudden all of our first class mail is being returned to sender as undeliverable. The last time were in TV in April I talked to the mail person in Pinellas and she told me they are required to put all first class mail in the box and do discard flyers and ads when a mailbox is getting filled up.
So here's my question. Does anyone know who to call to find out what is happening that would have my mail returned to sender? I don't think the mail delivery buildings in TV have phones and even if they do the delivery people are only there about 1 hour a day.
My Pinellas address is in zip code 32163.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I would think you would have to go to the mail post office or online and do forward mail there and here when you leave? Then stop it when you return? Otherwise how would the post offices know where you are at either address?
IMO need to go to the main post office explain you situation see what advice they have?

Yes, they are required to put all mail in your mailbox (if you don't have a forwarding order to have your mail forwarded, Temporarily) and that's what they were doing until they see your box is filling up, and nobody claiming the mail. Then they return it to sender, undeliverable!!! You need to go to Lady Lake Post office and fill out a change of delivery notice so you can be on track again to receive your mail. Then again, when you are up north, or down south or out west, you need to make out a change of address card again to have mail delivered back down here. The system works if you do the right things. Again, I suggest you go to Lady lake Post office (where your mail comes out of, and explain the situation. You must remember, the carriers here in The Villages are under contract, and NOT Career Letter Carriers. Hope you get everything straightened out.

I do this on line. Go to Welcome | USPS (http://www.USPS.com)
Look for forwarding mail
Fill out all required spaces, pick dates when to hold mail or when to forward.
Hope this helps.
