We are curious if TV allows cars to be parked overnight in the driveway. When we move there our garage will be stuffed and it may take some time to distribute everything or get rid of it. Our last retirement community did not allow cars in the driveway overnight.

Absolutely it's allowed every night if you so wish. Welcome to The Villages.

I ahd a neighbor who liked parking his car in his driveway until it occurred to him that critters with long tails were using it for their amusement

And you don't want to do that before you move here? Make sure you read the deed restrictions before you buy something, or get here. They cover those issues.

Wow. Tough neighborhood. Sounds like a community to avoid.

When I had my driveway painted I called TV to get the OK to park overnight in the street. I was told that TV does not own the streets and u can park any night in the street.

We came with 4 cars, and a 2 car garage, guess what, 2 stay out all the time, also have a couple of neighbors with more cars then garage space, so no problem with the driveway. I no there is a major problem in one location with a pickup truck and trailer being parked on the street night after night, and a good part of the day.

There is a time limit on parking a RV in your driveway.

The streets do not belong to The Villages. That's why it is not a true "gated community" and anyone can enter.
It would be counter-productive to forbid you to park in your driveway when you could legally park in the street in front of your house.

Carl - I understood that the villa streets are owned by and maintained by TV. Is that accurate?

I live in a patio villa and we just had an issue about parking on the street here. It is perfectly legal, as long as the tires are not on the grass. Can be a nuisance because these streets are narrow.

Slightly off topic....get rid of "stuff" before you leave your current residence.....you will be doing yourself a favor and saving money as well.

No class... I put two of mine up on jack stands and threw bright, blue plastic tarps over them.

Wouldn't that be considered a lawn ornament?

I pull in to my garage once in a while, but I do park in the driveway and my husband's truck won't fit in the garage. I figure that is what a driveway is for!!
Some of my neighbors may not be wild about it, but it is what it is!!
