I am sorry to bring this up, but someone mentioned the train noise and the sewer smell.
How many sewer plants are there and where?

starflyte.... I might be the one who mentioned it. I'm a wannabee, like you, however I haven't yet visited TV. I will do the lifestyle preview on my next visit to Florida. I live in Oregon.
Everything I know about TV is from what I've read in this forum and I've been taking notes because I am serious about TV as my relocation destination. From my notes......... the sewer plants are: near Alhambra // on Buena Vista in Liberty Park (behind the Fire Dept. on Bonita Blvd) // Bogart - Becall areas// Largo - Duval// near Havana Country Club.
As I recall, THE SMELL is not always an issue, only when the wind is blowing your way - under certain conditions, sometimes.
Now, people...... if my notes are wrong ..... PLEASE CORRECT me !!

nitehawk, I don't know what to say. Graciegirl, thanks! I'm sure that Hadley is a perfect place to live and ConeyIslandBabe thanks for the locations. I'm sure if they are not right, someone will tell us.
ConeyIslandBabe, where do you live in Oregon? I love it out in that coastal part of the country and my husband is from Tacoma (70 years ago), WA.

We pretty much notice the smell every time we go pass the sewer plants near Alahambra and Liberty park in our golf cart or car with windows down. I have been to the Havana area about 15 times and can not ever remember the smell there.

Starflyte.... I live in southern Oregon, in the Evans Valley, in a very small rural town of 2k, between Grants Pass and Medford. It's about 80 miles from the coast, as the crow flies but it's a 3 hour drive through very beautiful terrain and redwood forests.
I do love Oregon - except for the long, bleak, cold winters and that's when Florida calls to me.
Prior to moving out west in 01, I lived in southern Florida for over 40 years so...... as an old saying goes...... once you get sand in your shoes, you wanna return! So I do 8)

I have been summerinig in our home in Liberty Park and the water treatment plant is 2 blocks away from me. Not once has there been an odor since I arrived mid June.
In fact, since buying our home 3 years ago, I have yet to smell any odor at all. I'm only here summers, Christmas and Easter so maybe the smell comes at other times of the year.

Smalldog Sez unless you are set on buying new, smart thing would be to rent for a while, 6 months or so if you can ............. all the different villages have a slightly different flavor to living in them, advantages and disadvantages ............ and which side of 466 you are on is also a major factor and guaranteed there are a few things real estate will forget to tell you until closing when the hook is set and you are being reeled in :dontknow: the sewer plant on the corner of Buena Vista and Bonita will from time to time pollute the air and then it depends on the wind direction to see who gets the benefit ::)
