Anyone using this network of doctors? This plan covers supplement ins. and drug plan with no premium but has up to a $4500 yearly deductible. Just wondering how it works for people living in TV and good network of doctors and hospitals?

Wife and I have had the insurance for 2 years. I think its great. Good primary care doctors, close to home. I was referred to 2 specialists, took care of my prostate cancer, did not cost me a penny. Very good network of good doctors.
Hope this helps out.

My understanding it's and HMO but takes the place of the supplement and also has drug coverage with it. I never wanted an HMO but it seems to be okay in TV and FL areas and their is no premium paid. For me and my spouse that is about $4000 we save in premium cost.

If this is the same plan as United Health Care The Villages HMO - buyer beware. I currently have a dear friend whose husband has this coverage and is experiencing end stage renal failure. Because they cannot find a doctor in the area that takes this plan they have to travel all the way to Clermont 3 times a week for dialysis.

I moved to TV in early April. My mom lives with us. She had United Health Care Medicare Complete in NY and we transferred to the Florida plan upon our arrival for her. We are not yet eligible for medicare otherwise we would have chosen the same plan. We were with the plan in NY and are more than happy with the plan here in TV. She sees a primary doctor in Pinellas Center and via United Health Care had occupational therapy and physical therapy initiated within two weeks of her arrival . The network is great. She recently received hearing aides through United Health and for a total cost of $500 she is skippin'. lol She will soon see a podiatrist, as well as, have a mammo and bone density test. All here conveniently located in TV. :coolsmiley:

My husband and I both have United Health Care The Villages HMO and we think it is wonderful. The doctors are great and so is the staff.

OK, now I understand. It is not a supplement but rather a Medicare Advantage HMO (if it were a supplement, you would pay virtually no medical costs but would pay a high premium). I also have a Medicare Advantage Plan through United Healthcare, but it is a PPO, not an HMO (referrals not required and also no premium).

Thanks I appreciate the information. We just moved to TV and looking into changing our insurance coverage. When I went on Medicare, I took out a Humana supplemental plan (Plan F). It is a little more than the similar plan with UHC but does include gym member ship. I pay around $230. per month, not counting Medicare payments, for me and my wife.
There is no deductible and no referral required. Villages UHC system accepts this insurance. If the doctor or medical provider accepts Medicare, this plan pays the remainder.

What is the deductible amount with the PPO?

There is no deductible for medical costs (there is a $200 deductible for Tier 3 & 4 drugs). You pay copays or coinsurance up to a maximum out-of-pocket of $6,700 in-network and $10,000 combined in and out-of-network.

I went ton village health 2 times after falling 7 times in the house. The docter at village health new nothing. I will never trust my healh to a group where the doctors are so clueless. Ii am 78 and will not skimp on health care. It cost a bit more but we want good care and not some rejects who could not make it on there own.
