I have been given the task of selling 3 automobiles, one being a 73 Pontiac Catalina which was bought, very seldom driven, and put in a garage and never moved for most of it's life. I have not even gotten deep enough in the garage to see the mileage, but my guess is it is very very very low.

Where would be the best place to try to sell something like that? I don't trust Craigslist on this one. I could do Ebay - but is that the best place to start? My guess is it would take some work to get it running at this point, since he has not started it in a good long while. I know someone who restores cars would love to get their hands on this one.

Not ready to do it today - but will most likely try to do it sometime mid-July when I get my act together. Just looking for a direction to go when I am ready.

If the car is in decent unrestored condition, you might actually want to contact one of the big auto auction houses, like Barret Jackson and see if they are interested, old low mileage cars tend to attract a lot of interest. Also, you could advertise in Edmunds this a good circulation. I would also do a search for Pontiac car sites on line, as many of these have free or low cost areas to post cars for sale.
Hope this helps, and good luck with your quest, I am a Ford man, or I might be interested.

I would advertise it in AutoTrader Classics or the local AutoTrader.

Thanks for the good suggestions!
(and I agree - we love our Fords as well) :)

Depends how may doors it's got or if it's convertible what it worth. 73 was out of the high performance years and almost entering the ugly age of American cars (exception of trans ams or firebirds ) IMO of course. IMO most collector cars that bring big bucks are pre 71s in 2 doors or convertibles with high performance engines. You know the ones with hemi's, cobra jets, thunder jets, shotgun hemi's, super duties, Mighty Mouses, rat motors (mark Vs.)

Check out classifieds on hemmings motor news for some possibilities. Contact a Pontiac collectors club. They may be helpful.
