We have an "Aqua Lift" technology Whirlpool oven in our new home in Lake Deaton. In order to clean the oven you have to pour 2 cups of water into the bottom of the oven and this supposedly new technology is supposed to clean the oven using a lower temperature. I tried this unsuccessfully on my last visit. Has anyone had any success in using this? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

It works fine if your oven is not extremely dirty. If it is really dirty you must use the regular cleaning cycle. Do NOT use commercial oven cleaner. We have Whirlpool appliances.

My oven wasn't even that dirty & it was still dirty after I tried it 3 x. There is no regular cleaning cycle on this just this "Aqualift" which does nothing. I have used Whirlpool appliances in the past & have been very happy. This just stinks.

Yes Gracie, looks great but it doesn't work like this. Even when it is so called clean it still leaves stains.

I keep my oven clean by not using it. :)

I have to agree - no regular clean cycle! Who the heck makes that stove?

Have you priced replacing the oven? Otherwise you are gong to have 10+ unhappy years.

Once we are down there full time in a couple of years we plan on doing that but for now I would like it clean for when I come down to visit. Really a shame, less than a year old.:rant-rave::rant-rave:

Then just clean it the old fashioned way or buy a new one. Getting the hands busy isn't always a bad thing and it's good for the soul....

As I understand it though, traditional cleaning of new ovens can also affect their ability to function normally.

I purchashed a sofa that I hated after a few months. We found out about a wonderful organization in Wildwood (House of Hope). We donated the sofa and puchased a new one for us. Know when to fold 'Em. Win Win.

Put it out on the curb, it will be gone in less than an hour.

I have cooked a lot for my family over time, Have had a few stoves, some more expensive than others, but if you cook you mess and in an oven the only thing that really gets ALL of it gone is a Brillo pad. Even after the regular kind of cleaning.
I rarely use my clean cycle. I just wipe it out and get the Brillo pad. But that's me.

GG - with the new cleaning cycle in stoves, I've found the only thing I need the Brillo pad for is to clean the shelves which cannot be left in the oven while it is cleaned. The interior skin of the oven comes out spotless...and we can make some messy meals.

We have never turned on our Whirlpool Oven once in the 4 years we've been here. We use a counter top Breville convection oven--

You could use it for an extension of your pantry then!
