* Well, we got our music for the October concert tonite (actually last nite as it's after 1am now) for the October /Fall Concert. Pretty good tunes but kinda rough the first nite out sight reading. My lip is swollen at this point. Thank goodness no big band today (Wednesday that is). That starts next week at Laurel Manor.
* I'm kinda gonna miss New Horizons, as I started out in that group. But I was one of many who had to leave to make room for the "newbies" who want to join. Besides travel distance. Mulberry is only 10 minutes from our villa by golf cart, while Hibiscus is 20-30 minutes by car.
* Looking forward to our first swing band get together on Thursday. Getting music for the Halloween Dance also coming up in October. Concert Band, big band, swing band, where or where does the time go!?
* Looking forward to the New Horizons Concert coming up in a few months also. You guys make us proud!!!

Happy Thursday everyone ;D;

Gonna be a busy day today. New Horizons has their first "go-round" this morning at 10AM
at Hibiscus. (Wish I could be there guys). And then this afternoon, at 2:30 the Swing Band gets into the action at Mulberry. Got some great dancing tunes for the Halloween Fling coming up in October. See everyone at Mulberry at 2:30. :bigthumbsup:

My hubs and I enjoy swing dancing and wish we were going to be here to kick up our heels Halloween.

SABRMnLgs Your enthusiasm is delightful.

gfmucci My dad and sister also played the clarinet and I remember them licking and licking the reeds to get them good and wet before putting them in the mouthpiece. I know that could be a great opening line for some comeback wisecracks ;D but it's true and is what comes to mind when someone mentions the clarinet. ::)

Probably what was meant is that we will now be able to enjoy the freshness of a greater variety of music. The typical oldies rock and roll, country and jazz will be sprinkled with the freshness of some light classics, instrumentals, and different arrangements - tonic for the soul.

And yes, a lot has been said of the habits of clarinetists. :pop:

Saw a great card the other day. It stated ..... "Music is LOVE looking for words!"

Anyway, swing band practice at Mulberry on Thursday was great. Dug up some old tunes and some news tunes and we jammed for a couple hours. ONLY a rumor at present but...... there IS talk of the swing band performing some "mini concerts" (45 min to 90 min) on the squares sometime in the future. Ear candy for your feet! Listening and dancing.
I can't wait for that to happen ;D. Course it would be nice if they held off until it cooled off a bit. Whew!! 8)
