Delayed Starting

Yamaha gas cart, 4.5 years old. Sometimes when I step on the accelerator, there is a slight delay in the cart starting...1 or 2 seconds. Battery measures 12v with OHM meter. Only happens about 20% of the time. Any thoughts?

Most likely the stater generator is in need of brush replacement, not a major repair.
