I didn't want to replace landscaping until I am down here fulltime. My yard man says I can't have the builders oak removed if it is more than 4 " in diameter. So I am left with trying to get it replaced within a week. Any recommedations on who could take out the oak and replace it with a Queen palm? Thanks!

Becky,
Most landscapers will take out the old tree when planting the new one. We used Fairfield Farms for our landscaping...had the drake elm in the front moved to the back and had queen palms planted in the front. Good thing with them is that you can pick your own palm from their nursery.

Becky - I've mentioned them previously but contact Lisa or Tammy from L.W.V Landscape at 352-636-8850 (cell) or 352-753-4451 (office).
They can move quickly and give you what you want for a very reasonable price.
You will, however, still have to go through Architectural Review to remove the old tree and put in the queen palm. Paperwork needs to be in by noon on a Monday and you'll have a decision by noon Wednesday.

If you replace the Oak with a Queen Palm you should be here to water it. When first planted they need an hour a day for about a month. If it rains, great, unless your going to set up a special schedule for the tree.
