Garage question

Hi to all - I have been reading for several weeks now. My wife and I found The Villages a little over a year ago and have since stopped by 3 different times while visiting family on the gulf. We have liked all seen and are now deciding on the style of home we most like (along with can afford). Neither of us feels like we want to give up a car, but do want a golf car as well. I have been looking only at homes that have 2 car/golf car setup. Is there anyone on here that has two cars along with a golf car and utilizes just a 2 car garage?

My garage is a 2 car garage extended 6 feet in length and 2 feet in width and easily holds one big vehicle, one average size and 2 golf carts.

If you're thinking 'new' home you can build it to your wishes as long as you have room.
As for exisiting - I'm sure you can find what you want in an area you desire.

Just to clarify what aln said - when you build your own home you are given certain specific options that you can have for a garage size subject to lot size constraints. In our case our options were: WIDTH: either add a couple of feet to a 2-stall garage OR add a golf cart garage. LENGTH: add 2 feet to the overall length of your garage. You do not have carte blanche in specifying the size of your garage.

Something to consider if you want to try to add golf carts to an expanded 2-stall garage: getting them to fit is one thing, getting them to fit AND have easy access to all vehicles without having to shuffle the others around is another thing. If you don't want to move vehicles around all the time, you may want to consider a golf cart garage. If that doesn't bother you and your garage extensions and car sizes allow you to get by with a 2-stall garage, then save your money and don't bother with the golf cart garage. Or, just park one of your cars on the driveway.

There is a house in Bridgeport with nine full size bays (autos?) and one smaller (golf cart?) bay. The house has two wings to accommodate all of these bays. It appears to have only three bays from the street.
So, it would appear the developer can get very flexible.

I was referring to the current program of "personalization" packages that TV offers on Designer houses. Of course things may have been different on Premier houses or several years ago when the developer was much more flexible in the options that a buyer could specify. As it stands today, your options on a Designer home are fairly limited.

Yes, we were recently looking and were told we could only extend 2'. We have four cars and would like a house with a three car garage as well as a golf cart stall. The size of the house is irrelevant! ;-) but we need the garages. Any advice?

Two are "project" cars but need their own "home"...Are the standard garages big enough to hold a large car? Is it possible to call the builder and get a definitive answer on this?
Thanks!! We also have friends thinking of moving in who own "toys" in need of an extra home. They also want to know if there is any trailer parking allowed or an area for trailers or storage facilities.

The locksmith we had said he rented a big storage space nearby and keeps his locksmith van and all his tools and stuff tools there.
So when he is going to do his locksmith work he just runs by and switches his car for the van.
