I just put on a birdcage that required the gutters/downspouts to be relocated .. Now I have water pooling at the foundation. I've had the gutter flow somewhat redirected between the 2 available downspouts, but still need to get the water from pooling in the low spot at the base of one downspout. It's been suggested I install a 15' French drain with a "poptop" at the end toward the middle of my backyard .. estimated cost $125. Anyone have any comments re. this? Hate to pay to dig a worthless trench and still have a water problem.

We just had a pool put in and my husband buried the downspouts and added a drain to the end.

My guess is the $125 recommendation is more in the line of what Sweetie did for Gracie. French drains cost much more than that to put in. I would definitely have it done given the pooling water. Far better than risking a possible sinkhole.
