Been renting for past couple of years . Closing on a New Build in early July .
Need some direction on which store[s] to shop and purchase from .
Also which stores to avoid .
Any direction re: a good sales-person also appreciated .
I have come to enjoy the " Florida / Southern Look --- off-white`s and lighter colored woods et al .
Would like to purchase from a dealer who could have items delivered w/ in 30 days of ordering .
Thanks for your time !

We were happy with City Furniture, Kane's and Hudson Furniture. All three delivered within a week.

Stay away from City Furniture--cheap crap--won't hold up in the long run--will probably be history in a few years

We had a real bad experience with Babbettes and would not recommend them!!!
The salesman had no clue as to his merchandise and the owner was not willing to accept responsibility for the salesmans mistakes!!!
We ended up ordering the same furniture from The Amish Store in Wildwood and paid $1700 less than it was at Babbettes!!

Babettes seemed snooty to me, I walked through all areas twice and no one even asked if I needed any assistance. I was one of maybe 5 people in the store. I finally asked someone a question and felt I was bothering them..... Bye bye. Ended up ordering nearly $20k of furniture for our new home from Furnitureland South, ask for Tim O'Brien. They delivered, set up and everything is great! Don't be afraid to give them a look. The day the semi came, they had two other stops within the Villages.... I did have good luck at Hudsons for a few items, ask for Victoria.
Good luck !!

I've had nothing but bad experiences with City Furniture. That rarely have all pieces in stock and the da lay for some pieces can be several months.

Oops, forgot to mention that the consignment shops like Bargain & Treasures and Nearlee New are well worth looking into. They frequently get the model home furniture from the purchasers.

We used Kane's in Ocala and were very happy with the sales process but we haven't taken delivery yet. The selection was outstanding and the sales associate very helpful. Also found a few pieces at City.

Go slow. One store will probably not meet all your needs. Look online. Pick a few key pieces then the rest will fall into place and enjoy every moment.

We just ordered furniture today for our new home. We had checked out City and Lifestyles (next to Babettes). We decided on a friends recommendation to also check out Family Furniture just across 441 from Babettes. We were very very pleased with the selection and the service. We highly recommend Dotti who literally spent hours with us. She did the layout, had all the model floor plans, knew everything about every furniture line and really 'got' our design preference. She spent two days, four hours each day and nothing was too much trouble. I think it would really be worth your time to check her out.

I bought furniture recently from White's (441 in Summerfield). Very large selection of beautiful and reasonably priced furniture. Everything I bought was in stock and delivered within 10 days. Very satisfied customer. Salesman was the best! Ask for Steve and tell him Dave sent you.

We dealt with Babettes and have no complaints (well, other than furniture being outrageously expensive in general, but thats the case at pretty much every store we went into).

As someone suggested earlier, Family Furniture (across from Babbette's) on 441 would be a good starting point. Then hit Babbette's which has more traditional furniture.

We have lived in the villages for over 7 years and we just bought all new furniture. We bought a sofa, loveseat, dining room table and chairs, and a hutch from City Furniture. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff was wonderful. We didn't find what we wanted at the Spanish Springs location but we found everything we wanted at the Lake Sumter Landing location. They delivered all in less than a week and the delivery men were professional and courteous. We are very happy with City Furniture.
