Well, I just wanted to remind everyone it is that time of the season again to feed your palm trees. I recommend to all our customers to feed their palms 3 times per year March, July, and November. I recommend to everyone to start their feeding the first week of March, we are usually past any chance of a hard frost or freeze by then in this part of Florida. Use Lesco 8-2-12 it is the best feed to use for your palm trees. On newly planted palms wait 3-months after planting before you apply ANY fertilizer. Then fertilize at least 3 feet out from the trunk of the tree. Do not place feed close to the trunk, it will do more harm then good. After your palms get established then feed them at the drip line of the tree, that is the area where your trees will pull in most of there nutrients. Feeding 3 times per year works well. Do not feed them after November because if you do, you have a good chance of hurting the new growth if we have a freeze. You can purchase Lesco 8-2-12 at John Deere in Leesburg off of Griffin Rd. ( Hope this will help answer your fertilizing questions for your palms )
