I loved his character and the vintage Bentleys he drove in The Avengers. https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/avengers-tv-show-star-patrick-macnee-dies-93-184943777.html

He was the perfect gentleman and the epitome of elegance and Diana Rigg playing "Mrs. Peel" was the perfect foil for him. No screaming, shouting, filthy language or unnecessary violence. What a difference from the trash they are churning out now. Does this reflect on us and the way life has changed?

I just started watching avengers. Other excellent programming: Peter Gunn, Mr. Lucky, Highway Patrol And Naked City.

Have you seen any of the shows with Honor Blackman? Before Mrs. Peel? Have several sets on DVD, a few with Honor Blackman on first one. But when Diana Rigg left, the show lost it's appeal.

He also played the head of U.N.C.L.E when it was brought back.

So sad! I always watched " The Avengers" I loved the British accents and the repartee between the characters , both actors had a sarcastic wit. I once used a well placed karate chop " a la Emma Peel "on an overzealous boy dance partner back in the day.
