President Obama just had the best week of his presidency, so far.
Monday - Confederate flag comes down
Wednesday - His trade bill passes
Thursday - SCOTUS rules in favor of Obamacare
Friday am - SCOTUS rules in favor of marriage equality
Friday pm - President Obama gives an amazing eulogy in Charleston, SC for the murdered minister of the Mother Emanuel church, and eight others, and breaks into song, singing "Amazing Grace" to the 5000 assembled guests.
Obama deserves a day off, hopefully he can go golfing. And BTW: just to irritate the rightwing, he traveled to Charleston on Air Force One. He even graciously invited Speaker Boehner to ride along for his first trip on AFO.

The common theme for all the events of this past week is equal justice for all, just what this country was built on. Hurrah. Hope and change we all can believe in.

Hmmm...one week out of how many? Even a deaf, dumb and blind squirrel gets the nut on occasion...if this is your shot at pragmatists in lieu of dreamers it's a bit wide of the mark....

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court also upheld the Fair Housing Act protecting everyone from discrimination, and on Monday, Senator Leahy (D-VT) proposed a bill to replace the Voting Rights Act, which was gutted by the Supreme Court back in 2013.

Everything is relative. How are we doing on the rising health care costs?
How are we doing on the $500 billion savings we were to get from Medicare?
How are we doing on the dirupting and destroying of ISIS?
How about our military having to hitch rides to be able to deploy troops?
Or having to hitcha ride to space?
How about cyber warfare? Who is doing what to be sure we are not disabled as a country.
All this minority, special interest, lbgt and all the crap some are ballyhooing is nothing more than picking fly crap out of pepper.
Let's measur Obama on those things that are or will affect the lives of the masses and the integrity of America........screw the small stuff!

Thought the eulogy he gave was an outstanding race baiting political speech cemented by a phony rendition of Amazing Grace.

What did you expect? Exactly what you saw because that's what you want to see!
I heard no race baiting at all, I loved the part on how God works in mysterious ways and while the President signs no better than I it definitely was NOT phony.
Get past your politics......

If you have ever watched a building be imploded you will understand what our current administration is doing to this country. I'll go one better all of our politicians are doing. To destroy you must first weaken the interior and that is what is happening for the last 6 years. And I will still go one better for the last 30 + years. But hey that is just my opinion(and many more).

For Obama (http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/obama-america-week-history-books-n382841)
For President Obama and America, this past week is one for the history books and the results will last for decades to come.

Good grief, you poor thing.
Did you just wake up from a seven year coma? I have great news for you: Dubya ain't the POTUS no more. Our once great country is well on the way to recovery from the disastrous Bush years.
Best wishes.

Dear Guest: As one other poster wrote Obama also had another win with maintaining the disparate impact rule.
We could combine all of the aforementioned best week events that Obama had, double it, and it would not come close to the destruction citizens such as yourself do to by supporting and celebrating the judicial activism or judicial dictatorship that has visited our Supreme Court, the cowardly acts of spineless politicians and the domestic enemies of this country that hide their nefarious agenda behind populist slogans.
It is sad but a reality that most Americans just do not understand our democratic way of life. They are unaware of our three Charters of Freedom, they don't understand the importance of the rule of law. they don't understand the importance of and the reason we have three branches of government and they don't know how fragile our democracy really is.
Everyone of the aforementioned events its process and outcome have serious and destructive implications.
Personal Best Regards:

Great week? We've had attacks in 3 different continents during Muslim ramadah, tunsia, France and Kuwait and now warnings for U.S. for July 4th. Great job Obama while he makes deals with Iran on nukes. World needs America to lead and our president more concerned with gays and racially dividing the country. Yup, another good week

I agree. Obama needs to quit going to Tunisia, France, and Kuwait on taxpayers dollars to commit terrorist acts, and stay home and roll some gays.

I would settle for him getting off the golf course, getting into the white house with the Generals and coming up with a plan on how to defeat terrorism. But oops I forgot, he fired all the good Generals and the attack that killed all the tourists on the beach , not to worry, probably just workplace violence again

How is the President of the United States responsible for terrorists attacks in Tunisia, France and Kuwait? It's not like 3000 innocent victims were killed in the World Trade Center on his watch.

Amazing that someone from a liberal city can have such reactionary right wing views.
It is really YOU that does not understand the democratic way of life. The Constitution is a living and evolving document. Remember, in the Constitution that there were slaves and they were counted as less than a whole person. The living document changed that. Women could not vote. The living document changed that.
The Executive Branch can veto bills, the Legislative Branch can over ride vetoes, and the Judicial Branch can declare a law unconstitutional. It is called checks and balances.
Anyhow, the Affordable Care Act is now the law of the land. There is marriage equality which is the law of the land.
This is not the 1950's. Joe McCarthy is dead and gone. Caitlyn Jenner is alive and well.
Get into the 21st century. Embrace change.
Go with the flow, keep up or get run over and left at the side of the road as road kill.

Let's also measure the GOP on all the programs they have initiated, pushed through, and supported that helped the common man. Let's start about the time of Reconstruction. Unfortunately, I can't think of any. Not one. The Dems have lately given us far more universal health care, Medicare, OSHA, Unemployment insurance, Voting Rights, Social Security, FRD's CCC and other programs, and so many others. The GOP is NOT the party of the common man. It IS the party of big business, banks that are too big to fail, Halliburton, big money in politics, and obstruction of meaningful programs.
