As a society it certainly wouldn't hurt for more of us to know CPR. Here in TV our firefighters are CPR certified. Several villages have residents that banded together to purchase defibulaters and have residents trained in how to use them. I believe the CERT volunteers may also have CPR certification. Currently there are many organizations that sponsor/conduct CPR training classes; Red Cross, Amer Heart Assoc, etc. You can contact them if you have an interest in learning.
I am a trained CPR Instructor and at our last Hurricane Preparedness Expo held at the Savana RC, discussed with the regional Red Cross leader providing local classes. At this time the State of Fl is putting together units to assist in Disasters both natural and terroristic. And training adults and children how to react/respond and protect themselves in these types of situations. Once these units are up and running and things ease up I will try my best to see what as a community we can do to increase CPR knowledge in TV. Hopefully other groups may chime in and get things going even sooner.
