Kathie,

I agree.

When I saw the title for this thread, shouted at us in all caps, I figured I knew what it was about. My first instinct was not to bother, although I found the title to be offensive. I was really trying to ignore it. I would probably never have even opened this one, but then I saw your name appear. Your name is what made me look. I knew that there had to be a good reason why you would even appear in a thread with such an asinine title, and a title shouted at us just to try to make sure we did not miss it.

And sure enough, you had an excellent reason for being here.

And I am here to join you.

I have been around here for quite awhile and I hope that it is obvious that I am not here to try to tell other posters what to do. A couple of times, a couple of posters have drawn a little Boomer-style ire, fire, whatever, but it has been rare. In fact, it has been exactly twice.

But I just cannot let this one go by.

I have seen the devastation this disease can wreak, not only upon the patient, but upon those who love the patient. I believe this disease to be among the most cruel of diseases, of which there are so many. I have watched it take out a brilliant doctor, although his heart still beats just fine. I have watched it take one of the kindest people I have ever known, while his heart continued to beat for more than a decade. And I have seen the caretakers of these wonderful people, age by the day, and lose so much of their own health, and so much of their own lives.

Why this guy finds this disease a joke, I do not understand. Perhaps he is simply thoughtless. Or ignorant. Let us hope he is not cruel.

I have never cared whether posts were pulled or not.

And I know enough about human nature to know that sometimes we are all guilty of simply not thinking.

And I am not so jaded that I cannot still have a little hope for human nature.

I hope that Happy 62 will take the time to think. And will then pull his own thread.

Boomer

The best way to get rid of Happy62 and those like him/her is to boycott any threads they start. If they haven't started the thread, ignore anything they write.

This person may even be a 10 yr. old for all we know, although I think a 10 yr. old has more sense and decency.

Happy62 is not a HAPPY person.

Thanks Boomer and Gracie. I'm so glad you both agree (and Taller Trees as I see you have posted also) with me. You have brought tears to my eyes, Boomer, I am seeing what a horrible disease this is and what it is doing to my best friend because of her father. This an awful thing to even kid about. I don't ever make a joke of having this disease when I'm forgetting something, I'd rather call it a brain f--t or a senior moment.

Thanks for your support, ladies.

P.S. I have asked Admins to delete it and hope that they will listen to us, as I am sure you all will agree with me. Thanks Kath

Hi Kath:

I lost my beloved Grandmother, Mother-in-Law, and other dear friends to Alzheimer's. They were normally very healthy people until that horrible mind robbing disease came upon them.

I hope they find a cure or preventative soon. Pray that the drug companies make more progress in their research.
