I have a new painted driveway and my tires leave nice black tread marks. Does anyone know how to prevent this or how to effectively clean them off? :grumpy:

I heard this time and time again and saw it happen to my painted garage floor. That is why I have elected not to waste the money on painting my driveway.

Again, keeping up with the Joneses at this stage of the game is just plain silly.

Have you called whomever painted the driveway? I would check with them first, and see what their approved method is. We had our driveway "stained", no tire marks at all.
Hope this helps.

We had our garage and driveway painted. They are beautiful. Our tires do not leave tracks-we have two vehicles. Many of our neighbors used the same small company (3 girls)
Their driveways were painted a couple of years ago and still look like new--no tire tracks.

Good luck

Please be aware that in general you cannot repaint a driveway, you may need to have whatever coating was previously applied removed by grinding or sandblasting. So back to my first comment, did you contact whomever applied to paint? You need to be careful, different coatings are cleaned differently. If you "paint" was similar to what was used on my lanai, I am just finding out the hard way that high pressure cleaning is not suitable.

Let us all know how you make out.

We hose the driveway down and use a wet string mop with a little dish soap to remove black tire marks. Works great.

I have seen my neighbor doing the same as above with good results. As I stated, mine does not seem to show tire marks. Also, if I did not mention it, our lanai is painted, and while I was using the high pressure cleaner, some of the paint actually started to come up! This is less then 2 years old..... I will be calling home warranty to ask about the situation.

You might need a wheel alignment
