Did you vote for Bush the First? Did you read his lips? chilout
No reason at all that the people "at the top" and giant corporations should not be paying a higher percentage of taxes than others.
Sec. Clinton has the right idea but it will be a hard thing to get through Congress after she becomes President on January 20, 2017.

To the OP...give it up.
The talking points have been distributed. She can promise cancer to everyone and they will cheer it
And I might add, they will never be able to tell you WHY they support it.
Trusting her on anything is basically just giving up the ship. This is for the Warren voters.

We as a generation have run up an 18 trillion dollar debt and climbing. I'm a conservative but anyone talking about a tax cut of any kind is not concerned about the future of this country. I did not hear her speech but if she said she would raise taxes she is the only honest candidate I've heard on the issue. The I've got mine but screw you attitude so many have today is not what America used to be about. In my opinion.

Even if Hillary does succeed in raising taxes, the additional revenue will be used to expand the federal government and not to reduce the national debt.

Try googling "Hillary Clinton Accomplishments" - there are pages and pages of links.
You must be a Con.
Try googling Sarah Palin Accomplishments - you know, the one you Cons were all drooling over a few years ago and ran for VP. Scan her ..... ahem .... accomplishments.
Google Jeb Bush accomplishments - you can count them on one hand.
Google Donald Trump accomplishments - hint, hint ........ filing for bankruptcy four times is NOT an accomplishment.
Google Piyush Jindal accomplishments - hint, hint, ......... leading your state as CEO to be last in education, and last in health care for seniors would probably NOT be something to campaign on.
Google .......... well, you get the idea by now.

Dear Guest: That word taxes to most hard working Americans means politicians are going to grab more of your earnings and waste it away on bupkis.
Politicians clearly are more irresponsible than a teenager who was given his/her first credit card. Politicians have no sense of priorities and worse yet cater to special interest groups to garner more support with companies (i.e. buying votes). Its why I hesitate on a Fair Tax because politicians won't be satisfied and they will add on VATS, road taxes taxes on taxes......
Let's examine the short version of your reference to "I 've got mine but....
47% of people in this country are on some combination of entitlements with the government adding in free phones free internet, etc. It's disgusting and its a big piece of our tax burden. Corporate welfare is also a major problem
Examples include Export Import subsidy GE Boeing two companies with their hands out. Telsa Motors is supported by government money and has not ever turned over a profit. And those rich people buying Telsa's get $7500 credit compliments of the government. Everyone has their hands out. As a side bar those 47% entitlement people live better than some middle class around the world
I want to hear candidates talk about cutting spending except in the area of national defense. While it is the subject of another topic we are short on nuclear deterrents and need a build up of weapons and military troops to offset the threats coming from Russia and China. Even now the military is wondering if the Chinese who sell us microchips have implanted technology that will damage our defense weapons...get the picture
Clinton is kowtowing to the masses with her populist Warren/Sanders jargon
She is using alinsky tactics in demonizing rich people. Her CEO's make too much money resonates with people who view CEO and upper management as self appointed demigods. Unions have used this technique forever and its why she tapped them for their support.
I will side step private unions because that is a horse of a different color. However public unions are bankrupting many states. their medical and pension obligation in many states can comprise 40% of the budget. but the bigger problems with public unions is that they bargain with politicians and politicians use taxpayer money. so the predictable outcome is more taxpayer money for more votes. The results have been devastating because we have more government employees than we need who are overpaid, they can't be fired for incomptetence, they have become politicized as weapons against....(i.e. IRS SEC FCC) and they are ineffective (i.e good enough for government work).
Succintly stated the candidate that will get my attention is one that is attuned to surgically planned spending cuts.
Personal Best Regards:

Raise your hand if you are sick of the campaign FOR Ms Clinton on here..to be about mocking people not even involved in politics or others instead of responding to the concerns that folks have about this candidate.

Take a look at the tax rate for corporations in the US before you speak. Why do you think corporations are moving their corporate headquarters overseas.
Why don't you ask John Kerry where his yacht is moored...it isn't Ma because of taxes. Why do you want to punish those people, through their own hard work and initiative, that made it. Have you ever collected a paycheck from someone who was broke....good luck in cashing that check! I always here the BS about paying your fair share, funny nobody says what it is. How about those who have "NO SKIN" in the game as they watch their flat screen TV, talk on their free phone, get free food using a card ect. ect ect! :BigApplause:

In searching around for true accomplishments both for Ms Clinton and the Republican field, because it seems to be important to posters, I found a short, un note worthy article which I found interesting. It was posted on a conservative site to be sure, and that needs to be acknowledged up front.
It was a discussion between a woman, Susan Miligan of US News and World Report and Chris Mathews.
What was quite interesting to me, was being aware of Chris Mathews and his politics, that being an outspoken apologist for the Democratic party for years and his comments.
The link I will post takes you to a video as well as an article, thus be assured nothing is being edited or in any way unsaturated for this thread.
The article appeared this past MAY.....and began with this....
"Last week, Bloomberg News’ Mark Halperin asked a panel of Iowa Democrats to name one accomplishment from Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State. Just one little accomplishment… One? Something? ANYTHING?
A grand total of zero panel members could recall a single noteworthy accomplishment of Mrs. Clinton’s. But we should cut them some slack because they’re not wrong.
Ms. Milligan defended her by saying this...
"On Hardball with Chris Matthews’ Milligan said the question posed to the Iowa Democratic panel was “unfair.”
“I think most people could not look at a Secretary of State and point to an accomplishment. Frankly, mostly what a Secretary of State does is keep something from becoming a massive crisis so, that in a way wasn’t a terribly fair question,” said Milligan."
What struck me was Chris Mathews response. It was NOT a reading of things that Ms Clinton had done or even a defense of her.
This is what he responded....
"But in this particular case Chris Matthews makes a solid closing argument, “Obama didn’t have a big accomplishment before he got elected.”
It (http://legalinsurrection.com/2015/05/its-unfair-to-question-hillarys-accomplishments-as-secretary-of-state/)
Now, if one of the strongest advocates for the Democratic party had only this to say is telling for sure. If, his point is valid, then the discussion which oft times is rebuffed by those who support her that her character, etc should really matter.
I took the challenge of someone who posted that we should all google HILLARY CLINTON ACCOMPLISHMENTS. It was not overwhelming at all and in fact, has a lot of these terms in the links "instrumental" and "played a leading role".
I might add that the links themselves were not impressive places. I think the only non partisan site referred to was REAL POLITICS and it was another rehash of even Democrats searching for those accomplishments. Hillary Clinton's Accomplishment Deficit | RealClearPolitics (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2015/05/22/hillary_clintons_accomplishment_deficit_126693.htm l)
So, I am surely open for any conversation that might point to her accomplishments and discussion of them.

You should know better than reference that 47% that don't pay taxes argument. Freeloaders! That never had legs. Bonnie Lee, Fox Business broke down the makeup of the 47%. Here it is:
.
10.3% elderly. That is us. Our pensions and social security don't rise to the point that we have to pay taxes.
6.9% do not work or make much less than $9,500, and don't have to file, some of the ultra rich avoid paying taxes through loopholes, students living with parents receiving money through student aid, Armed Forces who receive non-taxable combat zone pay.
28.3% pay payroll taxes (social security/Medicare) have jobs, which are very low pay or part time. They receive the Earned Income Credit.
<1% others.
Fox News isn't all bad.
Rich people do not demonize poor people. No. They just buy of politicians due to Citizens United. Raising taxes by closing loopholes is not an accurate statement. If they are avoiding taxes by something in the tax law that lets them do it, that is not a loophole. That's the law. A loophole is when you get legally around the law, because what you did wasn't considered or missed, when the law was written.
What are some of Hillary's accomplishments? Staying with Bill after she found out what he did on his coffee breaks. The Clinton Foundation, which is primarily Bill's, does provide 89% of their donations doing charitable work. If you are going demean her for having anything to do with foundation. Then, you have to give her some credit for the work the foundation is accomplishing. Unless, of course, you are living on a one way street.
Her bipartisan act in voting for the Iraq war. One reporter went so far to state, that she went out and convinced other democrats to vote for it. He gave the impression that she was responsible Iraq war. No! I don't remember, who wrote the article, and I am not going to look for it.
I am not a Hillary fan. She has gone a long way on the Clinton name. She has been running for president, since husband ran and got elected. She did work with Bill, when he was president. Some of the things he accomplished, she should receive for, just a little. She tried to get health care for all. So, you know she wasn't sitting on her hands during those eight years.

Isn't NY full of liberal democrats? Question should be what did she do for NY except raise the debt like all the other liberal democrats running NY for the last unteen years. So, why wouldn't she get elected by the liberal indoctrinated blind sheep voting state.

If winning an off year senate election in New York with a last name of Clinton, is your support for Ms Clinton, then her problems are much worse than some imagine.
