I have a zoysia lawn in a new house and I’m trying to do some research on proper care. A couple of sources say to use a slow-release fertilizer on this type of grass (UF site as well as the contractor that the warranty department has sent over). I’m thinking that the liquid fertilizer that my lawn care company (Dean’s) is using has nitrogen that is all “water-soluble” and is not slow-release. I talked to my Dean’s rep about using a slow-release granule but he said that they don’t use this unless a lawn is really bad off (apparently mine isn’t that bad yet), and I didn’t pursue it further. Any insights or experience here? Thanks.
