Happenings in August... showing guests around

I have guests coming towards the middle of August and I would like to know in advance if there are any special events happening during that timeframe. For example, a classic car show. What is the best way to see in advance what is coming up so we can make some plans?

Also, would I get them guest passes? Does a guest pass only allow them to get into the pools? With a guest pass would they be allowed to at least check out the rec centers? (I'm assuming they cannot participate in classes). Thanks!

The Villages Daily Sun has a single page they print monthly with a schedule of all events and performers at each of the three town squares. I can't remember when it comes out in the paper but I believe it is the third Thursday. You can buy the single page from the man who sets up a tent on market night selling subscriptions to the Daily Sun. He's under a white tent with the Daily Sun logo. It entertainment schedule costs 50 cents.

Here's a couple of links to information about guest IDs. They will need guest IDs to participate in certain activities like swimming, billiards, shuffleboard, horseshoes, archery, pickle ball and others, but they won't need to show an ID to simply walk through a recreation center and look around.

I, too, am having first time to The Villages guests the week of Aug. 20-27 and would like to know of events going on that week. When are cruise-ins held? Any other ideas for things going on that week. I believe Rocky and Scooter are both performing that week as I would like for them to see the squares when they are rockin'. Other suggestions?

I believe the Villages Cruise-In are held at the Spanish Springs Town Square every 3rd Saturday 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. It looks like your guests will miss the August Cruise-In.
