For those of you who live by or have driven by the pond in Dunedin "Basin D927" which you can see from Anna Maria road you will see a large pond that is low in water, filled with algae, and garbage floating around the drainage pipes and throughout the pond. Not real attractive for such a prestine area with beautiful homes. I like many of the people living in this area have called but we continue to get no response just someone who answer the phone says hold on I will see if he is in, then comes back with he will have to return your call. For those of you who live near this pond, and have paid a premium amount please call the community district office before this gets completely out of hand with dead fish and begins to smell in this summer heat!

Your paperwork now states that the pond may or may not contain water. So much for water view at times

I could be wrong but I thought these were retention ponds and is accordance with the deed, the villages is not responsible to assure they are filled with water.

It does, but they could at least clean the garbage out

I went by there today and noticed how unappealing it looks. There was rubbish in it and the large drains were out of the water and it was a real unsightly mess. I feel badly for, those that paid for a water view and are now looking at a mud crater.

The same thing happened to what they call Paradise Lake a few years ago. Whenever we have a drought these "ponds" go way down. They're not very deep to begin with so a few weeks of drought and they become mud holes.

I live on this pond. I saw someone come by yesterday from The Villages Community District and take pictures. Maybe they'll do something. I don't know why we aren't getting any rain. My friend lives in Lynhaven, and she says their ponds are full because they've been getting so much rain. Maybe we have a little sink hole in there and it's leaking. One nice thing though, the ducks like it. We have about 20 ducks living on our banks. They're very cute!!!!!

Some of the garbage is dog $#it bags that have been thrown down the storm sewers. Very sad.

That is a shame. Why pick it up if it is not properly disposed of. If I leave the house with my dogs, poop bags are in my pocket for use,if needed. Maybe they can clean out the pond with it being so low. Do,they have funds budgeted for this type of maintenance?

It doesn't seem to be all "doggie bags". Lots of beverage cans, containers & wrappers. I'm guessing most of it was thrown there during construction and now that the water level is so low it's surfacing. On a bright note.....there were 2 workers in a small boat trying to pick up some of the debris this morning. I guess the phone calls work !
