Any general rule of thumb to use when trying to add a birdcage to your home? Is there an approximate price per square foot to estimate what our cost might be?

I do not know if there is a rule of thumb, we are adding about 700 sq ft, brushed concrete pad, and aluminum-screened enclosure, along with the rearrangement of the sprinklers, and electrical receptacles. Cost is on the order of $17,000 to $20,000 depending on builder. There will be additional costs after the BC is built, landscaping, painting of concrete, etc.
Be aware that as of June 30th Sumter County updated building codes. In our case it did not make any significant changes, except to delay the start 2-3 weeks.

My neighbor had a birdcage installed last year by T&D on his corner lot courtyard villa for his water fall and hot tub. It's bronze aluminum with tinted screen (that really cuts the sun). It goes out from one corner about 20', across the back about 30' and back up the other side about 30' and then in about 5'. Probably about 800sf. They also removed the old lanai screen frame, touched up the stucco and painted the stucco, you don't want one screen inside of another. He paid $9800 total.
