Donald Trump says it is 'easy' to build a wall between America and Mexico (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-says-it-is-easy-to-build-a-wall-between-america-and-mexico--but-is-it-10396812.html)
Who is going to pay for this monstrosity? It will probably only work also for those who do not have the resources to fly over it at some point or sail around it. Those would not include terrorists and drug dealers but would stop someone with just the stuff in the pack as their belongings.
And, being the Ugly American and inflaming relations between Mexicans and Americans at the border is the worst strategy with respect to getting the human intelligence which is often the best way of catching and killing terrorists. Being a loudmouth on television and then if it happens as President of the United States is not going to solve much of anything except maybe make the Federal Government be the biggest since World War Two with the massive endeavour which would be needed to plan, build and man the World's next Great Wall of China-- Trump's huge grab at making the US Federal Government the biggest employer on earth if it is not that already. Does anyone remember how we found Osama Bin Laden? Look it up if you do not or watch Zero Dark Thirty.

The Berlin Wall was Effective......barb wire machine guns dog patrols.
The problem is we want the open door come on in flow of illegals to stop.
BUT we have too high a priority on not offending someone.
Do you think other countries tha in fact enforce their immigration laws are concerned about offending......ANYBODY?

Coverage of Trump has been relegated to the ENTERTAINMENT section of Huffington Post. He is just one of the clowns in the republican clown car of candidates who are just on for the publicity ride.

Coverage of Trump has been relegated to the ENTERTAINMENT section of Huffington Post. He is just one of the clowns in the republican clown car of candidates who are just on for the publicity ride.
The Huffington Post is far from a bell weather of accurate reporting.....unless one is in their alignment as well.
It seems the task is for anybody that is not for Trumpto insult and try to make him out the clown...including republican candidates.
Like it or not what he brings to the table is non filtered, non political, say what one thinks and not worry about how popular he or what he said is.
Like any of us when he is on a roll he may say some things that are not well thought out or even offensive.
But once one sets aside what they do not like about Trump, then, those with an open mind and able to do so, list what it is that one likes or supports.
Must be a fairly substantial number of folks that the good things he stands for they agree with. What other explanation is for him to blow past all the candidates in such a short time.
His message about taking America back and and proud again resonates with many of us who are sick and tired of the play nice nice, don't offend anybody except those not in support of their agenda, spineless politicians.
And because his message does have sufficient content, delivered in a no nonsense say it like it is or how it should be....the opposition and some media resort to making him out to be non viable.
Roughness and vulgar he is a far more capable candidate than Obama ever was. And his shadow completely blocks out the likes of the phoniness of Clinton.
What all the opposition is cowering in fear of is Trump in the debates......and their worst nightmare a Trump/Clinton encounter.....the Clinton machine will endeavor to enlist as much negative press as possible, like the Huffington lemmings to distract and distort what Trump MAY be representing........
we are sick and tired of the hollow BS politics of the recent past.
It is so obvious there are so many people who have not been around powerful, high level, corporate American, some billionaires, that can affford to say what they think. Becuase they don't have to worry about the peanut gallery and political cronies.
His message will in fact provide fuel for the other republican candidates as the continue to see the following he gains each day/week.
Call him what you will he is a force to be reckoned with.

There is no doubt Trump is a force to be reckoned with. But in the spirit of truth in journalism I must submit this regarding your Huffington comment:

Before we bought a house, we lived in an RV fulltime and spent 5 winters near the Mexico/US border. We stayed at 3 locations in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and traveled the Texas/Mexico border all the way. We also spent one winter in Casa Grande, AZ. Most of the wall is already in place, it was put there by Bush. It was working until Obama pulled the border patrol away from the border and moved them North so the fence was left unprotected. The Mexicans have destroyed it in many places. We didn't need to spend more money on a fence, all we needed to do was keep the border security in place that was already there. I know some of you are going to say Obama has done more to stop illegals than Bush, but that's more BS. I have spent a lot more time there than Obama. As far as I know, he has still never been to Arizona except when he landed in Phoenix and Jan Brewer shook her finger at him. No place on the US/Mexico border is safe.

Donald Trump is gaining in the polls for one primary reason...he is refreshingly open and honest when addressing the nation's problems.
I believed he would change the national conversation and he has. I also believed it would take a hard right to correct the hard left that has diminished this nation . We know the news media will demonize him and progressives will feint dismissiveness of his importance . What I find more troubling is that the GOP Establishment will work against him such as people like Karl Rove.
I don't know yet whether he is the right candidate to be president but clearly his message resonates with many people and so he is causing a stirring among the voters and it certainly beats other candidates who are polite but less than honest. Let the chips fall where they may. And an extra bonus Trump's bona fides are solid

How about the consequences of offending everyone as Trump does? How are you going to combat terrorists at the border by making enemies of many of the Mexicans whom you need to get useful intelligence on drug dealers, terrorists, and others.
A Wall at the border that would stop every one would require to what amounts to the police state of East Germany. And the Berlin Wall was not that long and anyone trying to cross it was often murdered.
I do not see Trump doing anything but stirring up the masses with appeals to emotion. I have been fighting for crime victims since 1991 and I have not heard much of anything about Trump doing practical things to help crime victims before this. I do see he is parading in front of crime victims of people who crossed the border and committed crimes. This is a political tactic IMHO and nothing more.
I am not a big fan of Hillary Clinton either but she does address the practical consequences of her words and actions by showing some diplomacy when making them.

Are you insuating to keep the border open and unenforced to remain friends with some information providers?
When one looks at all the other countries in the world including Mexico.......we are the only one allowing and encouraging immigrants to enter our country illegally. Just try that going into any of these other counties and see if they are concerned about offending you or losing intel.
Put the border law enforcement back on the border. Repair the damged ares of the fencing or wall. STOP the free pass march into the USA.
It is very simple and not complicated unless one is harvesting and nurturing a voting block which is what this is all about.

This might be of interest.
And there does need to be tighter controls with respect to breaches of security in many areas including the Mexican-US border. A Great Wall covering the 2000 mile southern border is impractical and would probably cost a trillion dollars or so. Even Trump does not have that kind of money and do you expect him to pay for it?
I just do not see Trump as being all that honest. He is a loud mouth who tells a voting block what they want to hear.

The current border fence is about 620 miles long. There are many drug dealers tunnels under it and planes probably fly over it as well.

Trump is just a loudmouth playing to the emotions of the uneducated. A 2,000 mile long wall manned by soldiers with orders to shoot to kill? Yeah, that would play even better than the Berlin Wall on the world screen.
It is funny how Trump talks his hatred of Mexicans but the Donald Trump clothing collection is manufactured in Mexico.
He is tomorrow's fish wrapper.

Obviously he is saying what many believe, Obama was born in Kenya, is a secret Muslim and brown people are rapists and murderers. And if you don't know that many in this country believe those things you are not paying attention to polls. Trump says out loud, and he is loud, what they say to their friends.

Reading your post ... it's pretty obvious you are a supporter of Open Borders and welcome the influx of the Mexican illegal alien peasant class. I'm also concluding you're Democrat.
You don't want a wall because ... you don't want to stop the flow.

Trump in lead because he is bringing to forefront what politicians won't touch which is securing our borders. Refreshing , bold, and candid. Politicians can't do the job. Maybe a non-politician can

What Trump has very effectively done is to show all the contenders, both parties, what a large segment of the population is for his approach to getting the job of fixing America back on track.....and sick and tired of political flip flopping and velvet glove, walk on eggs approach to hard issues.
What is feared the most is the potential ground swell that is potentially locked up in the American people who are sick and tired of being pushed around, lied to, and embarassed around the world.
That potential could be viewed as the same potential that drew America together to fight for America during the second world war....Rosy the riveter....make America strong....do what it takes to get the job done.
So he makes a mis-step and mis-statement and that is all the both party contenders can attack him on. The media and the opposition, whoever they may be, want to make him out to be a clown.
A few weeks ago at 1-3% he was noise on the curve. Now at 18% he is viewed as a threat......a real threat even if he is not the nominee.
He will definitely have an effect on how the issues are addressed. And of course any and all contenders are not looking forward to be on the stage in a debate with him.......not one bit!
Say anything you want; he has affected and will continue to affect the size, shape and topography of the playing field!

The only way you could see Trump debate Hillary is if he were the GOP candidate running against her.
He will not be the candidate. It would guarantee a Democratic victory. The candidate will be Jeb Bush.

Check Donald Trump's biography about causes supported and the like. He is one of the biggest players of the political game to get his buildings up. I cannot see how anyone can say he is sincere. This is all about Donald Trump and not about legitimate problems.
There are serious problems with politicians and their desire to only keep their jobs and this is coupled with ads that usual say almost nothing about candidates but are great products of Madison Avenue.
I would like to know with all this concern about vets, crime victims, and the like did Donald Trump ever use all his considerable fortune to help crime victims, vets, etc. He must have known with all his business contacts that vets were suffering as far as health care. How about crime victims? Did he fund a battered women's shelter. Fight librarians for better resources in their libraries for survivors/victims of crimes? What has he supported with respect to education? Donated to any schools that look into these problems? Trump has a huge fortune. What has he done with it? All it looks like to me is put up massive buildings for his vanity. I do like Celebrity Apprentice however.
If Bill Gates or Warren Buffet were running as political candidates I might see some sincerity there. Trump is out for Trump.

Big deal ... not. Most liberal politicians are cheapskates and don't donate much at all. After all, they prefer using / donating / taxing other people's money so at least they're consistent.
